White Privilege Autophagy

My PhotoHmm hmm. Man I love me that taste of schadenfreude.

So yesterday in St Louis there were some more BLM "protests", consisting largely of White people, as they tend to do.

And protesting out in the street was not enough. As the crowd drifted past some wealthy gated mansion they obviously felt that it was time to bring that message home a bit more directly by crashing through the gate and into the large property that “They were just peacefully walking past”. The Washington Post "forgot" the gate-crashing part.

And it was at this moment that they encountered the home owners.

Armed home owners too, though obviously not that well trained, judging by the way the largish woman is holding that fucking pistol like something out of Austin Powers. And the guy's trigger discipline on the AR15 is pretty shit as well.

Still, credit where credit is due. With a mob on their hands outnumbering them at least ten-to-one, no cops in sight and recent events on their minds they decided to defend their home in a meaningful, practical way - and the wife is there beside her man.

And there's video.

Well darlings, as you can imagine the MSM and social media went absolutely APESHIT on this story, which screams White Supremacy, White Privilege, Gun Nuts and NRA members.

And Racists. Of course!

Just one example being one Jerry Taylor,  President of Niskanen Center, a Leftist D.C. "Think Tank".

Fascists too. Of course.

You know I think I've seen the same claim here in the comments section of NoMinister. I mean if an "Anti-Facist" says that you're a Fascist then you are!

Naturally the likes of ABC, CBS and the rest of the MSM were all in on this narrative too and they used video that made it seem as if the crowd were just moving along the street beside the house, just to make the couple look even crazier and more racist/fascist/, etc, etc.

And then the terrible truth came out, courtesy of the couple's attorney.

You can also read and watch an interview with the guy here.
At that point, everybody got enraged. There were people wearing body armor. One person pulled out some loaded pistol magazine and clicked them together and said that you were next. We were threatened with our lives, threatened with a house being burned down, my office building being burned down, even our dog's life being threatened. It was, it was about as bad as it can get. I mean, those you know, I really thought it was Storming the Bastille that we would be dead and the house would be burned and there was nothing we could do about it. It was a huge and frightening crowd.
...
I do civil rights cases. Right now, I'm representing a young man who was assaulted by the police who is sitting in prison right now for being involved in a car accident after which the police came in and assaulted him. It's on video. I'm not some kind of extreme, you know, anti- Black Lives Matter guy. I do these cases. I have been doing them for decades.
I mean, I have on the wall of my conference room, I've got an anti-slavery broadsheet, the abolitionist broadsheet from 1832. It's been there as long as I've owned this building. I mean, I'm not I'm not the enemy of people that really care about the Black lives,
Heh! I don't think any of that will save their White butts or that beautiful house in the future America envisioned by BLM or those White Antifa kids. Still, it does sound like he's getting a clue:
.. but I'm apparently the enemy of the terrorists and the Marxists that are running this organization.
The Bastille? Marxists and terrorists running things? Death threats! Do tell! Same things are happening in Beverly Hills:
Several arrests were made in Beverly Hills after Black Lives Matter activists marched through a Beverly Hills residential neighborhood. The group of marchers was chanting “Eat the rich!” And “Abolish capitalism now!
Holy shit! Burning down the homes of Democrat-supporting, multi-millionaire celebrities? Where do I sign up?

The truth is you can never meet the demands of such fanatics. In the case of the St Louis lawyers my bet is they'll try and appease their attackers as they are doing in that statement, and perhaps donating to both Democrats and the GOP or only the Democrats, just to be safe? Having said that there are other signs aside from the "Marxists" note that they're starting to figure it out:
The only thing that stopped the crowd from approaching the house was when I had that rifle and I was holding there. The only thing that stemmed the tide.
The schadenfreude always tastes better with a red pill.

Those two are your type of people certainly. Entitled, tasteless ambulance chasers with good conservative credentials. Good for them! Trump's in to a winner there!

Watch out snowflake, you're too close to the truth and Tomas will ban your ass again.

No, they didn't "forget"; the gate was opened for the protesters, it was smashed by persons unknown at a later stage, but never let a good scare go to waste, Tomas. And never mind the truth, feel the lies.

And then the terrible truth came out, courtesy of the couple's attorney.

Ever known an attorney to go against their client's narrative? Doesn't make it true, or the prisons would be filled with innocent people.

Tommy is spinning a million miles an hour as more sheen falls from Trump.

In hundreds of highly classified phone calls with foreign heads of state, President Donald Trump was so consistently unprepared for discussion of serious issues, so often outplayed in his conversations with powerful leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Erdogan, and so abusive to leaders of America’s principal allies, that the calls helped convince some senior US officials — including his former secretaries of state and defense, two national security advisers and his longest-serving chief of staff — that the President himself posed a danger to the national security of the United States, according to White House and intelligence officials intimately familiar with the contents of the conversations.

But I really liked this bit from the report:

Merkel remained calm and outwardly unruffled in the face of Trump’s attacks —”like water off a duck’s back,” in the words of one source — and she regularly countered his bluster with recitations of fact. The German official quoted above said that during Merkel’s visit to the White House two years ago, Trump displayed “very questionable behavior” that “was quite aggressive … [T]he Chancellor indeed stayed calm, and that’s what she does on the phone.”

Just the way we remain when Tommy Boy goes on one of his rants.

(Is is just me, or has anyone else notice the traffic here lately is about as good as Trump's poll numbers?).

From what I have of this, it was a ridiculous thing for the couple to do. And I am surprised that Tom wants to defend it. Perhaps he is only doing so to wind people up.

Good on the couple I say!

The police were never going to come so why sit there passively while they loot and burn.

The Koreans in the LA riots showed the way.

For another successful citizen led fight back go to Utube, look up North Idaho, Couer d'Alene.

It started off with some army vets who managed to get about 20 armed citizens at around lunctime. They were able to mount a guard on about 4 intersections but by about 5pm that day all 4 sides of the intersections were patrolled with squads of 4. They had every street corner for blocks and blocks protected and with mobile foot and vehicle mounted citizens.

Of course Idaho is an open carry state but significantly it was well organised and they obeyed the law.

Free speech was protected and Antifa was allowed their say.

By the end of the day Anne Tifa and her mob of looters were nowhere to be seen.

Clearly a model for the future particularly in Democratically controlled states and cities.

Rex Mundi,

Yes, I have noticed a drop off of comments. I have said previously that there are too many contributions by Tom (also too long for a blog) which has the effect of making "No Minister" Tom's blog. His contributions are very much about his interests of the US and his take on them. That has changed "No Minister" from a blog which was primarily about NZ politics to something else. It is as if Simon Wilson had taken over the Herald. He would transform the Herald into a very different paper, just as Tom has done with "No Minister".

I think Tom should really follow the example of Pete George, and have his own blog (Pete George's is "Your NZ"). Tom has enough material, he has a visually interesting way of presenting it, and he has his own particular libertarian view of things, especially of the US.

Rex Mundi said...

I agree he needs his own blog, but that would require work to design and to promote. Tom's "genius" is in cut n paste, and like Cuckoo he has used NM to raise his ideas to an audience. But as we have both noticed, he has succeeded in killing off a lot of that audience.

If I and my 9 other NYMs were to stop commenting, that would leave yourself, Petri Dish, and Tom's sockpuppet drunken Ross as the only regulars.

A real tragedy, IMHO, is the decline in Psycho Milt's output, always good value.

You don't have to read them, Wayne. So much better than attempting to censor/cancel those you disagree with, hmmm?

Anybody remember a second rate comedy duo called Wayne ans Schuster?

What price Wayne and Mundi.

I didn't help establish this blog fifteen years ago to egage in some juvenile pissing match over comments so, if you fools don't like this blog or the Posts within it, DON'T BOTHER COMING HERE!

"Is is just me, or has anyone else notice the traffic here lately is about as good as Trump's poll numbers?"

....well Rexxi you must be new around here. Looks like blog numbers are trucking along same as ever after a bit of a covid uptick in early april

(By your logic Trump will narrowly lose the popular vote but piss all over the electoral college again then??)

So, while its not the traffic, it's more the quality of comments that seems to have declined. Wayne Mapp really does illustrate why there is no need for a urinal out back of the National caucus room (....and why Toddy from middle management is such a great fit)

Errrrrrr ... before Tom started posting regularly our numbers were in the low 50,000s. During the lock-down they spiked up to 90,000. Now they've settled in the mid 70,000s.

Heh, but don't let the facts get in the way of your attempt to airbrush history,

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

Oh yeah, Wayne. If you want a blog which exclusively or predominantly deals with NZ politics, go and start one yourself. But please don't come here with gratuitous advice to my colleague authors.

Rex I'm not sure what your other 9 NYM's are but if it is anything to do with your head injury based personality disorder that explains a lot.

However it would certainly be easier on everyone including the readers if you just selected a personality and stuck to it as I have a sneaking suspicion our readers are more intelligent than you give them credit for.

As for moi I like to think I make a small contribution to this site whether I am drunk or sober, which is probably one thing more than you can!

As for the site I like it the way it is!. Its a great counter point to KiwiBlog, offers something different, from drunk contributors to the very serious and erudite, while maintaining a steady readership.

Long may it continue.

RosscoWlg said...

Well Rex I like to believe I can spell so I guess that leaves Adolf with the thinking...seems about right

Pretty sure Ross can competently down a glass though. As long as it’s before 7pm.

See! Now that I pissed myself laughing at.

Snotflake I feel truly honoured and valued "both have the cognitive faculties of President Trump" Not often you say something nice to me or Adolf, I've printed that out and will have it on my office wall.

In fact I abandoned my whisky glass, shot down to the bedroom, grabbed my MAGA cap off the bedside table and felt a real glow of pride as I sit here typing my response.

By the way Snot MAGA stands for "Make America Great Again". Certainly resonates.

If you have substituted hopeful Democratic Nominee Basement Biden I would have been hurt. Putting me and Adolf in the same sentence as that arsewipe would have been truly an insult too far.

Or if you wanted to stay local you had a choice of Kelvin Davis and 16 other passengers...major fail mate!

I only ever checked out this site every six months or so, mainly to catch up with my cousin’s ( G.D) life. Over lockdown plenty of time on my hands so more regular and the occasional comment post. Thanks for your reads Tom. You and Phyco are my picks. Keep up the good work. Stimulate the mind and that’s what it’s about.

Tom gives us a fascinating insight into the USA's politics.
It's a shame rex didn't do the same with European politics.
Some of Tom's recent posts are too long to read on a tablet and/or seem far fetched, thou.
Psyho has some brilliant posts, but these are rarer than a blue moon.

It would be good if Wayne Mapp did a guest post on the National party, and what they represent for us, as we head towards an election.
