Lead item on the TV1 News tonight is that the ten Kiwibuild houses in Te Kauwhata's lakeside development have been given the big flick with no takers.

Inconvenient Question #1 .... who came up with the brilliant idea of building houses in Te Kauwhata .... what was the identified housing shortage?

Inconvenient Question #2 .... will these houses now be flogged off at a discount and, if so, who will pick up the tab ... the taxpayer?

Inconvenient Question #3 ... Does Housing Minister Twyford subscribe to the HST dictum that 'The Buck Stops Here?    Answer ... silly question.

Word from my source in Te Kauwhata is that the developer (Winton Homes) is laughing all the way to the bank with Kiwibuild (government) picking up the tab.

The Veteran - that's what I suspect - I've seen the developers signs around there on my journies down to Hamilton and beyond, and figured they were planning for the long term - how clever of them to get the government to buy them out early!!

Particularly when the huge subdivision development at Pokeno is still half unsold!!!

They've got just the place for Little Lance Corporal Legbut. The great metropolis of Ohura, where houses cost less than marijuana.

Twatford is a textbook "useful idiot"

I suspect his actual knowledge of house construction could fit on a postage stamp
