SELL TV1

Looking for any more evidence regarding the absolute bias of TV1 towards Labour ...   then look at the 6.00 pm news tonite.   A puff piece about St Jacinda being applauded at the Wellington airport and then an extended piece about the new Labour MPs arriving at Parliament with interviews from four of them.

Of the new crop of National MPs including Matt King who defeated Winston Peters in Northland ... zip, zero, nothing.

Ok, you might argue TV1 ain't a 'performing' asset.   But sell it anyway.   Perhaps the Labour Party could buy it as their promised new 'public service' TV channel.   Whoops, I forgot, Winston First is opposed to asset sales.

I started to listen to the live stream of election coverage from RNZ (It should be sold, along with TVNZ) but got sick of the gasbags and reverted to watching the numbers come in on the Electoral Commission website, without the benefit of John Campbell's inane nasal chatter.

It was most satisfactory.

Vet, you must realise that 97% of journalists in NZ are Green or Labour activists with bylines.

I followed the election on TV1 with the occasional flick over to 3. We did not stay on TV3 long because mrspdm and I cannot tolerate Gower.

I also found the Herald online electorate chart excellent - a very helpful tool for tracking the electorates I was interested in.

We were in Perth, WA on election day. One of the TV channels there had a link to TV1 but got a better idea from the Electoral Commissions website

You got me chuckling with this post. Wasn't that long ago the opposition was complaining about Mr Torn Jeans fronting the debate now you want the stationed binned because in your perception it's biased.
Partisan political people really do have something to add to Kiwi humour.

Noel ... I don't want it binned ... just sold. You call last nights effort 'balanced'.

Hope you sent a strident email to the Directors?

Noel ... What in hell's name have the Press Council got to do with this. If I wanted to complain it would be to the BSA but quite frankly I can't be bothered ... if the Media Party wants to wet their pants over St Jacinda they can go to it and accept the derision that comes with that.

TVNZ is covered by the Press Council. Do catch up.

You are wrong. Go and look at the Press Council's website and you will discover, even perhaps learn, that only online content of TV channels is covered by that body.

That is, for those who cannot comprehend, written word.

"You may also complain about the online content of the following broadcasters - TVNZ, MediaWorks, Sky Network Television, Maori Television, NZME Radio and Radio New Zealand. "

Do wake up.

The TVNZ news On Demand is the same as the broadcast.
But hey if you aren't going to complain to anyone, except here none of this is of any value.

So what? Next thing you'll be wanting to complain to Helen Clark about Winston Peters' policies, if he has any.
