Friday's Fulminations

There is mild moderation.  Normal rules of blogger etiquette and courtesy to blog hosts will apply with serious transgressors being thrown out.

Unfortunately our system does not allow your comments to show up in the blog post itself.  Just in the comments section.

Visitors might consider the wisdom of using moderate language.

President Trump is demonstrating that you can be obsessed with the idea of strength and go to absurd lengths to show you have it, but just wind up proving that you're weaker than anyone thought.

This weekend, North Korea detonated what may have been a hydrogen bomb, a follow-up to a series of tests seeming to show that they could reach the United States mainland with a missile. They seem completely undeterred by a regular stream of taunts and threats from President Trump, who among other things promised just before taking office that they wouldn't be able to do what they've now demonstrated they probably can. It's almost as though they don't take him seriously.

...

The latest Korean nuclear test suggests that Kim doesn't actually respect President Trump, or more particularly, isn't afraid of him. And wasn't that the whole point?

The truth is that for all his own comical threats, the last thing Kim wants is a military confrontation with the United States. What he does want, however, is a deterrent against attack, and he has correctly surmised that there's no better deterrent than nuclear weapons. This is a problem that George W. Bush couldn't solve, Barack Obama couldn't solve, and Donald Trump can't solve.

When Republicans were blaming the North Korean nuclear problem on the fact that we had a president they believed was weak, they tried to convince the country that having a more belligerent president who strutted around trying to look tough would achieve all the United States' goals in North Korea. Well now we're seeing it in action. And it looks awfully weak.

That must be why the President's approval ratings among American voters have improved constantly over the lat two weeks.

They don't care much for the gibbering of a 'progressive who writes for the WAPO or for the whining of a deluded Antipodean leftist.

You are right Adolf. Americans who support Trump only care about ending abortion, denying rights to LGBTI people, stacking the Supreme Court with Theocrats, grabbing women by the pussy, denying contraception, eliminating health care, and actually fucking themselves over by electing a lying, manipulative, bankrupt, adulterous rapist as POTUS.

They care about posturing, bragging, and going through life drunk, stupid, and racist.

They swoon over all 400 words in his vocabulary, because that's 50 more than any of them know.

They celebrate his childish antics because they are yet to grow up themselves.

They are, in fact, a basket of deplorables.

Keep it up David and you'll end up just like your hero Hillary.

Nothing but a fat arse with no listeners.

Whadaboutwhadaboutwhadabouthillary........if all you have to measure Drumph against is someone who was never held presidential power then your argument is not only pointless but quite childish.

Seems the GOP may be growing the beginnings of a spine.

On just his first day in office, President Trump blatantly lied to the American people about the size of his inaugural crowd.

Republican leaders shrugged off criticism of the President, saying that nobody really expects Trump to literally mean what he says.

President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, and admitted in a subsequent interview that the reasons given in the termination letter were pretextual, and the real reason was Trump’s frustration with the investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russian intelligence.

Republican leaders described themselves as “concerned.”

After neo-Nazi violence claimed the life of a peaceful protester in Charlottesville, President Trump declined to disavow white nationalism, and insisted that there were good people marching with the neo-Nazis.

Republican leaders expressed disappointment with the president’s language.

Trump used his pardon power to excuse a racist thug sheriff who abused his authority and flaunted court orders.

Republican leaders expressed polite disagreement with the decision.

Trump cut a budget deal with Democrats.

Now, Republicans are “furious.”

The last 2 Democrat POTUSes each served for 2 terms but I wouldn't bet a bent farthing Ol' Trumpelstiltskins survives for even 1 term.

I wonder how many people the Clintons killed directly and how many indirectly.
I read some where that Islamobama wanders down from his home to the Capitol Hill Library to
wallow in his psychopathic dream that he is like Lincoln. I imagine the entire area covered with trigger happy progressive State security baboons. Too bad Obama couldn't be more like Lincoln who was mad, killed more people than Obama, and was himself deservedly shot.
One more drone just one more.

Blog etiquette and courtesy to posters is also a part of the deal...it's not a one way street, unless you are a control freak and right wing fascist in which case it is acceptable behaviour
