Adolf Agrees With The Unions

The Auckland DHB has lost it's mind.

Apparently it is attempting to introduce a policy whereby it discriminates in employment matters against people who are smokers.

They'd better also discriminate against those who consume alcohol, fatty food, cannabis, methamphetamine and Labour Part propaganda, all of which commodities are as toxic as tobacco.

ADHB Executive Director of Nursing Taima Campbell, who proposed the original idea, said health workers had a responsibility to be positive role models.
Will the dear lady also refuse employment to her brethren who routinely bash their kids, on account of they ain't too good a role model either?

Oh well, some Lawyer will do very nicely out of the first and only test case.

Taima - a perfect example of how the bureaucracy gets in the way of getting the job done. She sits in her ivory tower dreaming up new schemes to 'improve' the quality of service …….. but in reality reduces amount service with all the additional bits of paper to be completed. What a waste of taxpayers money, she and the 3000 other management staff.

As far as I am concerned, ADHB can decide their own restriction criteria for their jobs. They created the damn things and therefore own them. Yes ADHB are a govt entity, but they are an employer, and the selection criteria should remain with those who own the job.
