When I read some of Tom’s posts I’m oft reminded of a man called Juan Garcia . Garcia had an interesting life, he was a chicken farmer from Barcelona and joined the Republicans at the beginning of the Spanish civil war unfortunately he was captured by the nationalists where, showing that self preservation takes priority over ideology, promptly joined their army. This left him with a profound distrust and hatred of both Communism and Fascism.

At the outbreak of WW2 he hotfooted it to Lisbon, spy capital of the world and offered his services as a spy to the British Embassy and was politely refused by a bemused M15 operative, undeterred he turned up at the German Embassy with a Spanish diplomatic passport and ticket to England and offered his services as spy. They grabbed him with both hands.

Once in England it didn’t take him long to recruit agents. A Venezuelan lawyer in Hull, a Welsh Nationalist belonging to the Aryan Brotherhood and the usual IRA dissident who fed him details of ship and troop movements, convoys forming up, bomb damage and reports on civilian morale. He used railways to move about and always claimed the right amount of expenses.

His crowning achievement was to report the first fast convoy to relieve Malta which pleased the Germans no end but not so much the Kriegsmarine who in spite of their best endeavours could not find it. Well it’s not surprising really as it did not exist, none of it existed because Garcia had never actually left Lisbon. Armed with nothing but a register of Lloyds shipping, a detailed large scale map of the British Isles and a British Railways time table and fare structure booklet he managed to convince a superpowers intelligence service that he was the real deal.. and get paid for it. Now imagine what he could have done with Google earth and the internet.

Yes, the British become very interested when he dropped that lot in their laps.

We are currently all suffering under the yolk of the "Tyranny of the Scientist". The proxy power of the geek has been weaponized by evil people and been turned upon us all. Thinking of bubbles Ardern and her puppet, on our local scale.

Garcia’s is a fascinating story. His name is actually Pujol though, isn’t it? Garcia is his matronym.

Then there’s Agent zigzag who also showed that “Superpower’s intelligence service” was as competent as Jacinda’s front bench.

Not a word from Freedum Fighter Tom on Trump's attack on social media and his threat to punish them for speaking truth to power. Where are you on this egregious attack on liberty, Tom? Still hiding from the Jacindaboot STASI? Poor Tom, never seen a fight he couldn't run away from.

If your level of perceptive analysis is typical of those on the left, President Trump will piss it in on Nov 10th. An take the house.

As neither of us get a vote in US, our opinions are just that.

Still, it is always nice to know who stands for opression and tyrrany. Well done, Adolf. I am sure you kiss your photo of Peter Dutton before b ed each night.

He has an empty space in his bed.

Adolf, that's Krystal with a K.

And as to your perversion about with whom I may or may not share my bed, Betty Swallocks disagrees with you.

The election is on 3 November. By 10 November Trump will be being pissed on from a great height while sitting in Federal Prison.

He remains president until his successor is inaugurated in January 2021 or 2025. You will have to be patient, Snow.

Snowflake said...

I can be patient, Max. It will be like waiting on the tee at a par 3 while the group ahead line up their putts like they’re Tiger Woods though. You know that feeling right?

It's not my perversion, Krystal. It's yours. I merely observe from afar.

Heh. Only just noticed this bullshit, which will be filed under the endless list of 24/7 Trump "hits" that will be forgotten a week from now.

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. It's what has enabled the rise of Twitter, Facebook and pretty much all Social Media by asserting that platforms cannot be liable for content users post on their sites, unlike the traditional MSM.

What Trump is threatening to do is remove that protection, which is actually something that has bi-partisan support (as long as his name is not attached).

Diddums.

After Twitter’s intervention on Trump’s false claims about mail-in voting, the company merely became the latest convenient punchbag for him to cultivate victimhood, rile up his base – and deflect attention from the coronavirus pandemic death toll.

Trump’s order is plainly illegal. After driving the US into an economic and health care disaster, Trump is desperately trying to steal for himself the power of the courts and Congress to rewrite decades of settled law around Section 230. All for the ability to spread unfiltered lies.

JO

Please quote the exact 'order' you claim to be illegal.

I'll answer that Adolf. Like overiding state governors he does not have the power because it has to go through congress (I think).

However if you want to see hypocrisy in action take a look at the cartoon he tried to have banned..
