NOT SO SURE

I see that Kiwiblog is running a piece from Duncan Garner that the Gummit has closed a deal on Ihumatao that will see the taxpayer stump up $45m to buy off protesters agitating against the building of 400 homes on privately owned freehold land. My colleague Gravedodger has picked up on this in his post 'Ouch, Spin that one Snowflakes'.

I won't believe it until it happens. The reason ... quite simple ... if Winston First sign up to this it will be the death of that Party.   Their constituency won't buy it.   They were lied to on the matter of Maori seats and this will be the final straw for their rural redneck support base.

I can actually see this as the excuse WRP needs to walk away from the coalition agreement.

I'm more than happy to be proven wrong on this.    In fact I hope I am.    This could be the issue that gets National/ACT over the top come the election.

All this name calling and filing of people and opinions must stop. It's extremely confusing particularly as, like fish, they have different meanings in other countries.

Wiggles and Uncle Tom's natural place of abode is NZ first as that is about as far right as you are going to get in NZ. There they will find a more subdued Andrei.

Anything to the left of that is snowflake territory.

Here are a few helpful guidelines.

Immigrants: .....New arrivals diluting the imagined racial purity of nation-states.
Globalists:....... Promoters of free trade, exchange, and movement across borders.
Snowflakes: ....College students and Twitter users offended by racist, sexist, and homophobic jokes.
Feminists: ......Women who insist on equal treatment and equal rights.
Interventionists:.... Bleeding hearts disturbing the sovereignty of foreign states.
Journalists:........ Clueless, out-of-touch, hopelessly liberal media.
Elites: ..............The rich puppet-masters of a decadent West.

Choose with care.

...natural place of abode is NZ first...

Of RWNJ's????

Chuckle.

Possibly the most ignorant ideological comment ever made here at NM.

Petri Dish.

Are you suggesting that Donald Trump is a Snowflake?

After all he is a prolific twitter user.

All ideological comments usually are however that was not an ideological comment.

(couldn't give a fuck shoulder shrug)

Peters can always be bought as we have seen often - so what's different.

Paulus - the Northland seat will probably be sufficient.

pdm ... if the report is true and Winston First goes along with it then the chances of Jones winning Northland will have gone from about zero to subterraneanal.

You have to live up here to understand the contempt that many have for him ... a lazy sod blessed with a certain arrogance and pomposity and able to be bought off by the highest bidder.

I always had that impression Vet - especially the arrogance and pomposity.

I think that the description is a perfect one for both of the gentlemen in question. It makes my blood boil when I think of the amount of taxpayers money that has been wasted paying the wages and expenses of these 2. The possibility of having to pay the legal expenses of Winston's latest foray into the Courts is a disgrace and I only hope that the Judge in his findings ensures that Winston has to pay the whole $525,000 out of his own pocket and is unable to dip into the treasury coffers for this account.

"What is being said right now by a whole range of people is simply false." Winston Peters.

Guess he can add you to the list?

Allan ... to be fair to WRP (and I don't need to be) he is funding this latest case himself (perhaps with a donation from the now revealed quite dodgy Winston First Foundation currently under investigation by the authorities). If the Judge finds in his favor then yes, the taxpayer might well have to pick up the tab.

ROFL ... well, he would say that wouldn't he.

Yeah, 2 months ago.

Meanwhile ... ... understandable - threatening to sue against Parliamentary privilege indeed. Empty bluster - we're used to that from the Great Charlatan. I would have thought Henry was a little better.

ROFL and Anonymous are either NZF shills or this blogs most credulous posters.

Labour are between a rock and a hard place here.

Do nothing on Ihumatao (ie uphold Treaty settlements, private property etc) and risk a resurgent Maori party.

Do anything on Ihumatao and risk a resurgent NZF party, giving them a reason to storm out of (another) coalition - they must be getting desperate to leave by now.
