OUR LITTLE BLOG

Am advised my post on Willow Jean Prime being put out to grass led to a grilling of the PM at her post cabinet news conference yesterday by the media.

Apparently St Jacinda was quite defensive about it ... wonder why?    Perhaps the years of accusing National of a grubby little deal over Epsom engenders some sensitivity.

The power of the blog.

Anon ... thank you for posting that link. So one has to ask why Willow Jean Prime has said in a conversation that she has been told she will taking a hit for the team and running a List only campaign up here in Northland.

Only three possible explanations ... (1) the Prime Mister is telling porkies or (2) Willow Jean Prime is making it up or (3) a decision was made to keep the St Jacinda out of the loop so she could claim plausible deniability. Your pick as to which.

Or (4) whoever told you about that conversation is a bullshitter, or (5) they over-interpreted or misunderstood a comment that was made to them. Even then I doubt it's an exhaustive list.

Milt ... comment made by Prime to one of her parliamentary colleagues. Do you REALLY think Labour hasn't given any thought to this?

Vet - Milt doesn't know about it so obviously the Green Party is out of the loop too.

(4) or (5) gotta be. Grilling of the PM. Nah.

Labour "did an Epsom" in Coromandel in 1999 to allow Jeanette Fitzsimons to take the seat for the Green Party after the Greens had split from the Alliance Party.

There was no such accommodation from Labour in 2002 and Fitzsimons was out of Parliament after one term.

@Eric
Jeanette Fitzsimons was an MP from 1996 to 2010, for the record.

Jeanette Fitzsimons was a list MP apart from the term of the `deal'.

A bit eccentric but still one of the saner Greens over the years.

@Max Ritchie

You are correct. Fitzsimons was "out of the Coromandel Seat" not out of Parliament as I incorrectly stated above. MMP means electors in an Electorate can no longer vote their MP out of Parliament.

Thank-you Max
