SUDDENLY THE ALL IN ASSAULT GOES QUIET!!

Thanks be for that, it was always an incident requiring the 'White Coats' to respond" but as almost anyone embroiled in emerging mental health breakdowns there are no responders available to defuse such incidents,  only clean up crews if things don't reach undertaker response, an all too common outcome, alas.

Last Wednesday a mentally disturbed 33 year old male made abusive statements towards Worshippers at the Al Noor Mosque where the deranged Foreigner had wrought his slaughter weeks earlier. He was also said to have vented on and kicked some of the tributes to the dead.

He was immediately leapt upon by a shallow media without any fact checking as variously:
A caucasian,
White supremacist,
Another example of the racism that is rife in the City,
An islamophobe,
All in a disgusting reach for headlines.
Oh and not forgetting the poor bugger was wearing a Trump t shirt, when it might have been a Che Guevara and never mentioned.

On Friday the unfortunate individual appeared in court after being arrested for "disorderly behaviour likely to incite", then in a massive departure from the meme that has freckled red heads with a part Maori ancestor  playing for the apartheid rugby team his naming became somewhat at odds to the MSM rants of Wednesday when the pack attacked. Daniel Nicholas Tuapawa who received none of the protection normally afforded suspects arrested for criminal acts, (not forgetting the armed police guarding the Mosque saw no reason to arrest him as he made his assault) only reacting to the media pack attacks by Thursday a day later, in seeking to arrest the by now clearly a mental patient that almost first entrants at a primary school might work out was having an "episode".

I guess all rather inevitable as the original tragedy has inspired much to be regretted even to closing down ANZAC services scheduled for some six weeks after the foreigner went on his rampage.
Then there is still Willy's weeping visit to come and that is yet more extending of the trauma.

I just hope Mr Tuapawa gets all the help he clearly  so badly needs,  if the current powers moves to decriminalise Cannabis are a go then maybe this is a case where such compassion could be employed.

Interesting that you consider Trump and Che Guevara equivalents, given how much the far right revile Che. Illuminating.

Well what do you expect GD - that man at the mosque was off his meds and so is half the country by the feel of it.

They are desperate for us to have a "white supremicist" problem and despite some airheaded female Auckland University Students claiming to be so intimidated by some invisible to everybody else "white supremicist" activity on campus they cannot go to classes very little of the eponymous movent is evident in our lands.

Which is hardly surprising masculinity toxic or otherwise having been almost efeectively eliminated over the past few decades and the large number of our young men either having bailed for greenrer pastures or been reduced to capons.

So when some old schizophrenic living on the fringes of society, conveniently adorned in an op shop Trump Tee shirt wandered mumbling past a mosque perhaps yelling what is claimed perhaps not, the press lept at it. Indeed the police on the scene using their common sense just moved the man along - but the need for scapegoats and action led someone from the community concerned to contact the media and within the day the manhunt was on and the fellow was rounded up

So there we have it New Zealand's "white supremicist" problem on display in the form of a middle aged, mentally ill Maori.

We also have the Ulster teen who allegedly sent J. Ardern a picture of a gun annoted "You are next" or something to keep us quaking in our boots and which will doubtless intimidate some so badly they will forego their local Anzac Day services.

I am hopeing though that New Zealanders will show they are made of sterner stuff than the media and pollies are presenting and attend those services in droves - especially the ones that have been cancelled for "safety reasons"

Not so snowflake the socialists have a vast gulf between how they view an elected POTUS who is doing his best to deliver what he campaigned on and a murderous communist thug who apparently delighted in killing.
My point was the stupid media would not have seen anything of significance had it been a "Che" printed image on the 'T', SNAFU?

Whether that’s true or not, Gravetodger (and it’s probably not) it’s kind of a dumb point to make. The fact is he was wearing a t-shirt idolising a person who, amongst his myriad faults, panders to Islamophobes for political gain. As opposed to you and Tarrant, for example, who are genuinely petrified of people who hold different religious beliefs.

Rumour that the Royal Commission has been told that diversity hire should be investigated as one aspect of intelligence failure. Quickly squashed on the grounds it is Government policy.
I'm guessing the number of potential informative submissions will now be reduced.

Don't see " Did a bias by some members of the coalition Government towards the organisations impact on the ability to have their concerns acknowledged" in the TORs either.

@ Snowflake please substantiate your ludicrous suggestion I am "petrified".

At my age and contentment such fear would be a totally irrational response.

I am not even what you might like to call an Islamophobe, but I certainly have a long held belief that until the leadership of Islam begin a reformation that ends persecution of Homosexuals, denigration of Women , extreme punishment of any former believer who through rational thought questions their enslavement to perpetrate the doctrine, in fact all so called "Sharia Law", Islam has a big problem. Christianity OTOH has certainly made modernisation a laudable aim over its 2000 years and counting, The Nation of Islam is accountable and worthy of derision and disgust for its leadership and the many enablers.
I was aware and cognisant of the now almost unbelievable idiocy Lloyd Geering endured when he attempted to bring his personal beliefs to his role as Moderator of the General Assembly early in the second half of last century, ending with the rejection by the General Assembly of charges of "heresy' in short order.

Btw I am also happy Bibi made it back again and totally reject the socialist/communist line that the only functioning democracy in the Middle East is verboten but continues to survive and govern all races , religions and people who live in modern Israel. Sheesh even Arab citizens get to vote and sit in the Knesset. On that note how do you think Christians might get on in modern Brunei or is that more factually regressive in truth. Now they might be just a little "Petrified"? what say you Snowflake?

Deranged eh! Well It doesn't have the same ring as clinically insane but I can live with it. There is little doubt he is clinically insane has it was not the act of a rational or reasonable man.

The question that is avoided here is what turned him into a "deranged" person, what made him flip...apart from the obsession with white supremacist and alt right internet sites some of which he donated large sums of money.

The other question carefully avoided is what on earth made the "mentally ill" gentleman wear a Trump T shirt?.....possibly logging onto a Obama website perhaps.

Now the elderly Akaroa chap wants to rename ANZAC day as FANZAC day.

Foreign and New Zealand Army Corps.

Just touching on Brunei....it seems that some posters here who blame the MSM for misleading headlines are doing exactly the same thing.

Not being an apologist for the worlds richest man who coincidentally runs an absolute monarchy but if you look at the "stoning law" you will find that it is symbolic.

Firstly it applies only to Muslims of which one third of Brunei is not, so basically it is saying to homosexuals bugger off and join the Catholics or Russian orthodox mob.

Secondly there must be two independent witness's to a homosexual act ie. two people unknown to each other. So unless some dimbo puts his love interest on you tube I don't think we will be seeing any stonings.

The guy shouting racist abuse at victims of a terrorist attack was wearing a shirt promoting a notorious racist and anti-Muslim right-wing nationalist authoritarian, and you think that wasn't worth mentioning? Yeah, good luck with that.

...his naming became somewhat at odds to the MSM rants of Wednesday when the pack attacked. Daniel Nicholas Tuapawa...

Is there some reason to imagine Māori can't be prejudiced against Muslims? I'm not aware of one. This guy may have a mental health problem but he was saying what his brain was telling him, and under the circumstances it would be a bit much to expect the mosque's attendees to tell themselves "Nae bother pal, just a harmless bipolar type off his meds."

You mean, like the "reformation" NZ had in its ancient history of 33 years ago, that was vigorously and vehemently opposed by a wide swathe of NZ society including just about every single Christian? Funny how all those vigorous and vehement opponents have since started pretending that persecution of homosexuals is a peculiarly Islamic activity...

Same tire old horesradish from Milt - there were no policemen chasing down homosexuals 33 years Milt or long before that FFS

There were plenty of well known New Zealanders for whom it was an open secret that they were "gay", to use the orwellian newspeak of our age, and nobody cared

In England they actually voted in a Homosexual Prime Minister as was and is very well known.

All that law reform meant really was certian people could bore us all shitless talking endlessliy about their "sexuality". These people are so fucking empty and shallow
that they define themselves by their preferred sexual practices. Now how fucking sad is that!

@ Andrei

Yeah, nah. Psycho Milt specified Christians, not the police and I remember 1985-86 very well. The majority of Christians - and not just evangelicals and conservatives - were adamant, vociferous and zealous in using every legal means to influence public opinion against Fran Wilde’s homosexual decriminalisation bill. I know, because somehow I became a Christian at that time - in spite of the widespread church attitude and scaremongering.

Lord Egbut Nobacon said...

Absolutely wrong Andrei....police actively sought to catch homosexuals in sting operations prior to 1986 as it was against the law.

I have no idea which Prime Minister you refer to so it was not "very well known".

Your sweeping statements about openly gay people are misleading. You could be "openly gay" without sanction...it is the act itself that was illegal not the appearance.

What is sad is that sweeping generalisations that imply knowledge do the opposite.

This is a very interesting read.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_LGBT_history_in_the_United_Kingdom

...and I may be naive in entertaining what was a cover story, and leaving aside the unsubstantiated accusations years after Ted Heath died about his alleged paedophilia, but I thought he was asexual. Or did you mean another British PM?

Kimbo said...

@ Eggie

Yep. Irrespective of the true purpose for which Colin Moyle was questioned by police one night (and he gave a number of contradictory reasons), if the police did not take any interest in homosexual activity, why then did they stop and question him in the first place, and why did he have to resign as a result of Rob Muldoon making it known one infamous evening in Parliament?
