I remain completely baffled by the enigma that is President Trump.

Should he manage to pull off an agreement that would see an end to hostilities between North and South Korea he would quite rightly earn considerable kudos from all corners of the world yet just five days before he is due to sit down with President Kim he has Rudolf Giuliane, his close confidante and personal lawyer go public and say Kim got on his hands and knees to beg Trump to reverse his decision to cancel the summit.

Has Trump or Giuliane ever heard of 'face'?     I can't think of a better way to derail the summit before it even begins.   Perhaps that's what Trump wants.   Whatever, the only thing that is predictable about this summit is its unpredictability.

It is the piece of mind that passeth all understanding.

No surprise at all, this is the disfunction that President Bone Spurs has dragged in to the swamp.

Giuliani is invited to speak at a conference on forecasts for the US market, the hottest real estate investment trends, and how the political changes will affect the markets will be held at the conference. What does he do? Undermines the institutions of law in the US and attempts to destroy the NK-US Summit. Not sure that's what the attendees had in mind.

Giuliani has no position in the US Government, he has no authority to speak on behalf of the US Government or the POTUS. But like Trump, he is a self aggrandising, New York slimeball. They make a perfect pair.

David ... Giuliani stepped up to the mark as Mayor of NYC on 9/11. Since then it has been a bit of a downhill run for him. Not sure why anyone would want to be Trump's personal lawyer. That job is certainly no sinecure and comes with a degree of professional risk.

As a direct result of decisions Giuliani made, 343 firefighters died when the towers collapsed.

Way to step up to the mark, Rudi.

Giuliani lied about his involvement after wards. I was at Ground Zero as often, if not more, than most workers.... I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them.. 29 hours over 3 months, not quite the same sas firefighters who spent that many hours over 3 days.

No wonder Trump loves him. That's just how Trump steps up to the mark, too.

David you've excelled yourself. Was he flying one of the jets?

Poor attempt at changing the topic, Adolf.

Did the Saudis who funded the attacks make the decision to move the NYC Office of Emergency Management headquarters (long-identified as a target for a terrorist attack) to the 7 World Trade Center building? No, Giuliani did that, even though he had been warned not to after a previous terrorist attack against the World Trade Center in 1993.

Did the Saudis who funded the attacks make the decision to replace faulty radios for firefighters with other radios with the same fault? No, Giuliani did that. And when the order to evacuate the towers was given, 343 firefighters didn't hear the order due to their faulty radios and they died.

Did the Saudis who funded the attacks aplogise for he purchase of faulty radios on a no bid contract? No, he doubled down and claimed they stayed in the building out of a sense of duty. Not that any of them told him that, since they were dead.

No, he wasn't flying the jets, but is culpable for the things that happened on his watch.

Once the gold from the bank vaults was recoved, Giuliani wound up the search for bodies, leaving them to be dumped at landfill sites.

There are are no grownups left in the room..State Dept spokesperson who was recently hired from FOX.........“Looking back in the history books, today is the 71st anniversary of the speech that announced the Marshall Plan. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the D-Day invasion. We obviously have a very long history with the government of Germany, and we have a strong relationship with the government of Germany.”.

Don't tell her about Pearl Harbour forging links with Japan

Lord Egbut.

Not only that, Egbut, we have also had Donny Two Scoops saying to Trudeau "Aren't you the guys who burnt the White house?" Yes, the Canadians invented a time machine in 1867 and went back to 1814 to burn down the White House.

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

Legbut, you'll have to be more specific. Was the Marshall Plan announced on some other day or is seventy one years not a long time?

All ... shit oh dear ... somewhat removed from from the substance of my post. Threadjacking not appreciated.
