haha future funnies >> the last white man in captivity >> the sex trial and punishment of Kennedy's replacement on the Supreme Court >> and the the short future of the old Ruth Ginsburg.
What's the bet the Democrats suddenly find the Supreme Court has too much influence,
and "lets give it back to Congress, I mean the Senate, ah I mean it back to the President, ah I mean .... ahh we'll think of something, yeah close down ICE. "

Ain’t that the truth.

Especially for Adolf.

David ... what would be your position if say Oz was connected by a land bridge to Asia and India ... would you support an open boarders policy because, in criticising Trump, it appears that is what you are advocating ... just askin.

Pretty easy for us in a country separated by oceans from the rest of the world to pontificate from on high. Bit harder when the opposite applies. Then too the old adage that a country that can't control its boarders ain't a sovereign country.

We can argue the toss that for years the US turned a blind eye to 'wetbacks' as a cheap form of labour doing the jobs that Americans didn't want to do ... and that's the truth so, to a large extent, the American's problem is of their own making. But that aside there has to be a mechanism put in place to control illegal immigration and at least Trump has been prepared to tackle a problem that every other President has only been prepared to pay lip service to doing.

The alternative .....

Veteran, there are many ways to achieve immigration control that do not require Police State tactics.

First, America could stop encouraging immigrants by bragging about how it is such a great place to live. Remove the Statue of Liberty and all it represents.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Second, it could stop creating refugees. Many of those currently attempting to seek asylum in the US are from Honduras, the original "Banana Republic". Honduras has been bought lock stock and barrel by corporate Amerikka and each attempt by Hondurans to seize control of their nation is repulsed by US military action.

Then too the old adage that a country that can't control its boarders (sic) ain't a sovereign country.

Yet up until the early 20C America had few immigration restrictions. It was built on the sweat of migrant labour.

Borders are also a major driver of wars. In the USA, just ask the various indigenous survivors or the Mexicans.

Pretty easy for us in a country separated by oceans from the rest of the world to pontificate from on high.

We had a massive influx of "boat people" from Vietnam after the war ended. They were welcomed with open arms. Some went on to be criminals, some went on the be high achievers (e.g Hieu Van Le), most just settled in to a new life and became part of the community.

Trump has been prepared to tackle a problem ....

But there is no "problem". Trump has created the "problem" by demonising an entire class of people, by labeling them as being part of what they are actually fleeing. I am sure it won't be long before he will be issuing Trump branded, Chinese made, yellow stars.

Just what "problem" is America facing?

And, as an aside, we all know that Trump is a disgusting POS, but have you ever, EVER, seen anything more disgusting than him scrawling his signature over the photos of murder victims?
