She didn't anticipate this?
When the tariffs were announced this was well documented in most analyses.

I expect I;m banned from FF as well...oh well here goes...Applying the mindset of 80 years ago to the fast moving world today is as fruitless as it is pointless. You cannot have a war without sharing a border. The Germans did not put their industry onto a full wartime footing until 1943 so the building of the Panzers is a bit of a myth.

When the Panzer's rolled they rolled next door and captured the infrastructure. Iran cannot invade Israel, Israel cannot invade Iran. The US cannot invade Nth Korea without the Sth Koreans permission, Nth Korea cannot invade the US. Russia cannot invade the US and the US cannot invade Russia.......interestingly China can.

Lobbing bombs and missiles at each other over vast distances and "pre emptive" strikes is not war and will always end end without a result unless you take ground.....god bless the Infantryman.

The great danger is the Baltic states where Russia's territorial ambitions lie and the EU is far from asleep with the integrated command structure of the EU army is being set up.....after all the Russki's only need to roll next door. Norks and Iran are just headline grabbing sideshows that keep the true threat hidden. Now what does the EU say about the Tangerine Gibbons latest blunderings...... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/eu-president-donald-trump-tusk-steel-tariff-iran-nuclear-deal-trade-sofia-western-balkans-a8354171.html

It sure is. In 1940 the Germans were no better equipped with tanks than their French and British opponents, they were just less crap at using them. In 1941 they were severely under-equipped with tanks compared to the USSR and that didn't work out so well for them. I guess they were way better equipped than the Poles, Belgians and Dutch, maybe that's where the myth comes from.

From 'Order in Chaos' The memoirs of General of Panzer Troops Hermann Balk:
"The world’s first modern tank army had been formed. Unfortunately, that tank army was completely lacking its backbone, an adequate tank production base. That tank army without an adequate number of tank plants remained an empty shell despite increases in manpower and the accomplishments of the leadership. This was a decisive factor in losing the war."

I don't know Paranormal

The Wehrmacht first encountered the iconic T34 during the battle of Moscow and it shocked them

I saw a contemporary German Newsreel where German tankmen were mocking a captured T34 for its crudness and simplicity but in reality the T34 was the most advanced tank in service in any army at that time

So the Germans came up with the famous Tiger and Panther tanks to counter it. They were rushed into production and first saw service in 1943 at the Battle of Kursk where they didn't perform well. Most of them broke down before joining the battle, they were new, complex and suffered from many teething problems. And they couldn't be repaired in the feild, unlike the T34s which were maintained by their crews

And there is the thing T34s could be quickly manufactured at a fraction of the cost of the Tigers, were reliable compared to them and thus though even outgunned and theoretically far more primative comparitively also were far more effective - The Soviets could produce 10 T34s for every Tiger the Germans could make

The Tiger Tank was just too complex to manufacture in the numbers required and too unreliable in the feild to cope with numbers of T34s which were rolling out of factories all across the Soviet Union

Andrei. Sorry but you'r wrong. According to Wiki, the Tiger tank was produced in 1942 and first saw service in North Africa.

I should have been more specific Adolf it was the Tiger II that made its appearance at Kursk

But both the Tiger and the Tiger II were over engineered

In all varients around 1900 Tigers were built during WW2 whereas there were well over 57,000 T34s in all variants built. That is a substantial disparity and it was telling - no?

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

Well yes but you might allow some credit for a few thousand Shermans.

Further to last and to provide some context, over 49,000 Shermans were produced during WW2. You might not be aware a considerable number of these were delivered to the Soviet Union under Lend Lease.

Nice bit of diversion Andrei......made a point about Putins territorial ambition in the Baltic and you witter on about a bit of archaic ironmongery.

See what you did there Walter?...fuck with peoples posts and you cause confusion in the thread....Question..how does the richest man in the world tell his long suffering citizens they are due for a tax rise as the economy is tanking because he made a silly decision to roll his Panzers across a border and take what was not his.
