Friday's Fulminations

There is mild moderation.  Normal rules of blogger etiquette and courtesy to blog hosts will apply.with serious transgressors being thrown out.

Unfortunately our system does not allow your comments to show up in the blog post itself.  Just in the comments section.

The Russians are turning our open society and democratic institutions against us in a Phsyco cyber war that we appear to have no answer to. Putin has banned twitter and China has censored the internet which means we can't reply in kind. They have meddled in the Scottish independence referendum also Catalonia and France. There is no doubt they were involved in the Brexit Ref and they are fomenting unrest in Scotland again. Always the reply from those with nice sounding anglo saxon names is "Prove it".

That day is getting closer as is the fat orange ones impeachment. http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a13135811/russian-facebook-ads-2016/

Egbut, a lot of the blame must also go to Fox, the Republican Noise Machine. Just like Trump, there is no need for facts on Fox, just blather, braggadocio, and blondes with big tits. Joe Sixpack wallows in it, and along with the rest of the Deplorables, does what he is told.

This is to be expected in a country that has dumbed it's education down to such an extent that biblical myth is taught as literal truth, that lies are included in science classes, where children are punished severely for not participating in the loyalty oath.

This is a country that places the mercenary above the doctor, the preacher above the teacher, the police above the policed, and is exceptional only in its shared delusions.

Jeez David, your comment appears to have been misdirected here from The Standard; please go back there to continue your anti-Big America delusions with your like minded losers. Perhaps you could explain which country you would prefer to live your utopian socialistic experiences in before you go.

David does have a point but it is so much the monkey at fault it is the organ grinder Murdoch. He used his ownership of the UK Media (Times and Sun)to get Blair elected on nothing but spin...lies to you and me. Now he has Fox plus other MSM to peddle his doctrine. It comes as no surprise because his father lied about the events in Gallipoli.

The fact David is lumping ALL the states together shows that he has little understanding of the country as a whole.......try thinking of it as 52 different countries with some better than others.

Just a short list of Nationals broken promises from 2011 election.

1. GST was increased to 15 per cent.

2. The wage gap with Australia has increased by $32 a week.

3. 100,000 New Zealanders have left for Australia.

4. Budget 2011 cut over $400 million from Working for Families by reducing payments through changing abatement rates and thresholds.

5. National is already spending the money from their partial asset sales policy and Treasury has already hired an Australian investment banking firm as an adviser on the asset sales.

6. The underclass has grown with 32,000 more children living in benefit dependent households over the past three years.

7. National passed legislation that halved the KiwiSaver member tax credit in year starting 1 July 2011.

8. Only a fraction of the jobs promised from the national cycleway have materialised.

9. Early Childhood Education subsidies were changed.

10. The 2010 ''tax switch'' has not been fiscally neutral, as promised.
