The Speech

A few comments on President Trump's speech to the joint sitting.

A significant victory for Trump and a huge blow to the Democrats and their Fake News media friends who have invested their all in demonizing Trump and making him out to be 'not a normal' president.  Like the political left and their media hangers on in NZ continually underestimated John Key, so have their contemporaries in America underestimated president Trump.

He looked, sounded and was 'presidential.'   As one astute commentator put it, that speech 'normalized' Trump and gave the lie to his detractors' hysterical efforts of the past two months to paint him as abnormal.  Trump showed himself to be unimpeachable normal and if there was any abnormality it was his continued drive to keep his election promises, a concept foreign to the Democratic Party.

It is instructive to note a number of political commentators from hitherto anti-Trump media were effusive n their praise.  This represents a major back down for them and a real victory for Trump.  The question is, will they revert to form?   I doubt it.  They now know where there ratings come from.

Also instructive were the gasps and audible groans from democrats when Trump announced an inquiry into the adverse effects upon victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants.  The Democratsy could feel their legs and their supply of fraudulent voters being chopped off.

All in all, I think this was a turning point.  The speech was indeed a game changer.

Trump is indeed a game-changer, just not in a good way. The only plus side is that no-one will be able to take claims of American exceptionalism seriously from now on - well, that and he does provide a kind of handy litmus test for people who'd like to know whether they would have been among the ones opposing Hitler or the ones cheering him on.

Well yes, I drove to work with Radio 4 on.
Even the BBC seemed happy.
I must check out the details of what Trump said.
After all, if the BBC is happy something must be amiss?

Yes indeed, Trump is the most exceptional President in American history and he will, and is, making America great again.
Unlike Lincoln he will not consign half a million men to war graves and make misery for their families.
His statue and presence will tower over Lincoln and Washington.
Herr Merkel the Communist and socialist Europe wilt.
The Emperor has arrived.

FFS, The Pendejo of the uStates is an actor and he read a speech written for him. He gave a performance. Martin Sheen also appeared "presidential" when speaking the lines others wrote for him in "The West Wing".

This useless, craven caitiff went on to exploit exploit Carryn Owens, the wife of slain Chief Petty Officer William Owens. Remember him? The one who needlessly died because The Pendejo felt a need to wave his dick around? Trump is fighting to avoid an investigation in to the wasted life that has been requested by Owens' father, preferring instead to make his widow cry on national TV. The man has no shame and nor do those who laud him.

Hey Jobless!

How the hell are you going to keep writing this crap for the next eight years?

Hey, the operation really showed that village who was boss, for the loss of only one very expensive special forces soldier and a bunch of wog civilians. Of course Trump's proud of such awesome military success.

PM, as per usual form, The Tiny Dictator flails around to point the blame on anyone not him.

President Donald Trump was asked by the crew on Fox & Friends about the failed raid in Yemen that took the life of Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, and the president was quick to deflect blame onto others.

When asked about criticism from Owens’s father about the failed raid, Trump pointed out that planning for the mission actually started under former President Obama.

“This was a mission that was started before I got here,” Trump said. “This was something that was, uh, you know, they wanted to do. They came to see me, they explained what they wanted to do, the generals, who are very respected. My generals are the most respected that we’ve had in many decades, I believe. And they lost Ryan.”

Trump says My generals are the most respected that we’ve had in many decades and yet they're the very same generals that Obama had. The Tiny Dictator hasn't replaced a single general. the Joint Chiefs of Staff are the same now as the ones Obama had. No one has been demoted, no one has been promoted. trump is, as usual, full of shit.

Is that all you super analysts have got?

One casualty from a raid planned and approved on Obama's watch? Just one, uno, un, tahi casualty?

Do you know how many US military personnel were killed in road accidents on the same day?

Here's a hint. Over 60% of all US military deaths last year (reported) were from road accidents.

From what I heard, it was rejected by the Obama administration as high risk for little benefit, but resurrected by the Trump administration. Certainly looks like the Obama team's assessment was correct, because the cost was one casualty and a bunch of dead civilians, for a benefit of... well, Trump got to parade the guy's wife at one of his speeches, but the President's personal benefit isn't supposed to be part of the calculation.

Seems as though we at least have a grip on reality, can sift fact from alternative facts, unlike your goodself, Sir.

As Joe Friday was alleged to have said, "Just the facts, ma'am", well the facts are plans for the raid were begun during the Obama administration, but Obama officials declined to sign off on what officials described as a significant escalation in Yemen. Just five days in, Trump greenlighted the mission.

That's right, 5 days in, at war with the intelligence services, unable to fill his cabinet posts and with his only military experience being draft dodging, The Pendejo of the uStates orders a military action without proper research and intelligence, with no clearly defined goals and at the waste of many, many lives.

What a crock of shit you admire.
