Andrew Bolt 2100 our time on weekdays is a good link to what is really happening in the West Island.
With some great guests he often gets the real news out and last week he had a most revealing segment for one who often struggles to understand what the MSM reports on matters Islamic.
Now when one of Muhammad's followers becomes excited and a "Lone Wolf" incident ensues the facts are so often obscured behind some of the most unusual journalistic claptrap leaving someone who actually gives a toss bemused, to be frank.
I understand that chopping a thief's hand off might cause them to reflect that another "getting caught" might make wiping their arse somewhat fraught, being careless and getting herself raped might create some headaches for the victim, and daring to show an interest in Christendom or Judaism might require ones head to be removed for closer inspection. but getting anyone of the far too many who refuse to see Islam and Sharia as any residual threat to western values and mores, remains a fruitless search.
Can a single, pun intended, female, intent on following the herd response that all men are rapists give any explanation as to how they see no threat to women's rights from the battalions of imams and sheiks who don't even let sheilah's into their mosques main chambers, yet can continue the now almost one and a half milennia of treating a wife as a chattel. Such blind stupid ignoring the elephant in the mosque defies my logic.
Back to Andrew and his interview with the eminently amiable and exuding peace and calm, one Mr Keysa Trad The Chairman of some Muslim collective that seems to be a point of contact on matters Islamic for media in Australia
The question being addressed was the rather archaic fact that the Muslim Bible suggests a man may beat a wife who displeases him, now I don't know about anyone else but I figured out real early in social intercourse with sheilahs that hitting was not an option.
No need for religious instruction or any faith based reasoning, hitting a girl was verboten, that was just how it was.
Good ole Boy Keysa was dancing on a pinhead with Bolt, trying to give an explanation that it might only be a last resort after flowers and Chocolate had not solved things, then counselling and debate had failed, disobedience might require a smacking.
A couple of things there that need further research;
Where would Keysa find flowers and chocolates in the bloody desert where the nonsense all began.
I firmly believe that no means no, headaches and too tired are not necessary but totally reasonable, as if they would make a Keysa reconsider his demands.
Women are always at a minimum, the equal of men and all too often in matters domestic more astute arbiters.
So maybe Islam and I will never come to an understanding but watching the hapless Trad in Bolts relentless questioning was entertaining if somewhat useless in solution seeking.
