OM TRUMP'S CABINET

It's interesting to see 'worthy' people dump on President-elect Trump's (warning ... rise in blood pressure of some readers detected) cabinet even before they are sworn it.   Some comment ...

If reports are right and Trump nominates Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil as Secretary of State then I'm not sure this is necessarily a bad thing.   Tillerson has huge international experience in (1) doing deals and (2) protecting his own patch.   You can argue those are exactly the attributes needed by the Secretary.   So what if he knows Putin well.   That could be an advantage.

Contrast him with Secretary Clinton who bought nothing to the job and it showed.    Clinton will go down in history as a failed Secretary of State.

Some have not taken too kindly to Trump nominating Generals Kelly, Mattis and Flynn to top jobs.   The word 'Junta' (as in negative connotations) has been used.     It is fair comment that very few ex senior military personnel make their mark when they transition to the political world.    In the US post WW2 probably the only exception was five star General George Marshall (of Marshall Plan fame) who served as both Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State.    Eisenhower did not distinguish himself as President (except perhaps on the golf course) while Colin Powell's tenure can fairly be described as an unhappy one.    In simple terms the military mindset does not fit easily in the political context.   That is not a criticism but rather a statement of the obvious.    Perhaps these three will prove the exceptions to the rule.   Time will tell.

As for the others and Dr Ben Carson's appointment to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development is an challenging one.   He is going to have to make good on Trump's promise to revitalize America's countries inner-cities.   That will either make him or break him.

Finally I see that the deranged left have demanded that they be given the opportunity to stage anti-inauguration parades as part of the January 20 change of government celebrations ... no doubt headed by sexuality Professor Olga Cox and the other Michael Moore .... only in America.

Off to Dunedin ... back Friday.

Some sort of WW 1 trench mortar is my guess.

Bit earlier than I thought.
Mallet's mortar built for Crimea but never fired.

At least Dr Carson has experienced growing up in government housing . . . that makes him more qualified to run the place than the snobbish commie faculty-lounge theoreticians they normally appoint.

Wow..blood pressure OK currently. Some members of the electoral college have asked the NSA for beakdown on Tillotsons Russian links including financial. He has appeared on RT television which is the Pravda of TV and is the State propaganda machine linked to the web brigades. He was well aware of RT's standing.

Another conflict of interest is the Bank of China who is the the major tenant of Trump Towers....it's getting more like Fawlty Towers every day.

Every unpopular election result breeds a raft of court cases, most going nowhere but every now and then a game changer comes along. A DEMOCRAT member of the electoral college has applied to a court to overthrow the convention that he is only allowed to vote for a Democratic, him and others want to vote for a Republican and it ain't Trump.

Putting the military in the hands of the military or ex military is a recipe for disaster as history has shown ex generals do not take advice willingly. Both Churchill and Hitler had extensive military experience and were the bane of their generals when trying to micro manage campaigns and thinking they knew best. The danger man is Bolton, a nasty piece of work with little empathy for the ordinary citizen.

Every day while his fat little fingers tweet companies into losing millions he appears more and more like an undisciplined, unsupervised self indulgent child in a sweet shop who has accidentally turned on the gas..............one spark.

Funny isn't? Nobody seems interested in Clinton's or Podesta's real links with Russians. But a few excitable keyboard warriors who can't spell or think clearly want to wage war over Tillerson's imagined links.

Most American Presidents of the 20th century had military experience Egbut and most had combat experience as well

Obviously Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower but also Harry S Truman (army, Artillery Captain WW1, France), JFK (Navy, PT Boats Pacific), LBJ (Navy - though that was more PR), Nixon (Navy - as a quaker he didn't participate in combat but commanded a Navy cargo ship in the South Pacific in Conflict arenas ), Ford (Navy), Carter (Navy- nuclear submarines in peacetime), Reagan (Army limited service - ineligible for overseas service, made PR films during WW2), George HW Bush (Decorated Navy pilot), Clinton (draft evader) George W Bush (Air National Guard), Barack Obama (Dope smoking activist)

Eisenhower...."military experience" led to 52,000 US deaths in Vietnam, lets not count the rest. JFK had little experience of command and was like Eisenhower elected as a "war hero" on his military service so authorised the Bay of Pigs fiasco, he could have said no...

Clinton draft evader....just shows he had the good sense to recognise injustice and a lost cause when he saw it.

Obama..... he should have smoked the stuff I was on in the 80's and unless he wanted to join in the scuffle down in the Falklands it was far better to not to volunteer.

Happy now,,,,I broke my promise not to talk to a troll who uses wiki.

Do your own search Legbut. Next you'll want links to prove water is wet.

A clue for the clueless. Start with uranium.

I can understand his request.
After all how often is it you put something up and eventually the source is found to be suspect?
