A Week Is A Long Time

The American election has just turned into an "A" Grade comedy show.

Can you just imagine what it must have been like when Clinton and Co first heard-

Comey has re-opened the file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The were all huddled together planning their election night victory parties when the shattering news struck.

He can't do that!  He's bought and paid for.   Jesus, Bill, you'd better make sure that bitch Loretta doesn't decide to break out too or I'm sunk.

Crooked Hillary has demanded that the FBI releases all information relating to  the new investigation.  She should be careful what she wishes for because I expect Mr Comey in fact is getting ready to do just that.  About three days before the election and there won't be a damned thing she can do about it..

Why do you quote from a Democrat site?

David said...

Find us a republican site that is truthful and we might quote from it. Breitbart, Fox, Eagle Forum, they are all a viper's pit of lying ignorance.

David said...

Ah yes the Trumpanistas in the MSM and the Trumpanzees in the streets and blogs are falling all over themselves. But its all a beat up.

The emails are from Weiner, NOT from Clinton.

The emails are not from Clinton's so called "private server.".

The emails were not previously "withheld by Clinton.

Its all lies.

But that won't stop Adolf's heart racing.

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

Don't worry Lefties.

All it needs is for the morally degenerate, ethically despicable hag to fall flat of her face in four days time and you can all go home.

Noel said...

Aw gee Adolf whist there is some concern that analysis by Snopes can be as baised as the rest of the media, for blatant rumours it akways stacks up.
This latest that you are beating up is in the latter category.

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

It doesn't look as though the Democrats think it is a beat up.

Noel said...

But what about this one.

So what is it you are trying to say?

Cat got your tounge?

It's already public that there are 1000 new emails of Clintons on Weiners server.
What you lefties don't seem to grasp is the fact that Weiner had copies of Clintons emails prove how wrong was her wif decision to ignore rules and advice by having her own unsecured server.
How many people had access to weiners computer? and therefore Clintons emails.
Here is a man keen to show his privates to the world , do you think he would be worried about protecting Clintons emails.
Governments , especially the most powerful one in the world ? Hold information , that in the hands of the wrong people could cost lives.
It's sickening that people could defend this wilful dereliction of duty simply because she's from their team.

Must be something behind it the way the Democrats are crying foul.
After all they've never employed such tactics/sarc

This is a very annoying debate.
I hear the argument that this isn't Clintons computer , all the emails have been disclosed ( she doesn't know this) .
The point is that Clinton has wilfully ignited the rules over use of a private server , rules that every Secretary of State prior to Clinton , has followed . She has ignored advice to desist and deliberately through her IT manager attempted to delete email details and all of this has lead to private and probably secret emails ending up
On the computer of a man who flashes his privates to all and sundry , including 15 year old girls.A man not in the state department , a man not in Government in any capacity.
Who else has these emails from man .
Wether she should be locked up is for the courts to decide but she shouldn't be let anywhere near the levers of power again

George Bush and the 22 Million “lost” Emails.

For 18 months, Republican strategists, political pundits, reporters and Americans who follow them have been pursuing Hillary Clinton’s personal email habits, and no evidence of a crime has been found. But now they at least have the skills and interest to focus on a much larger and deeper email conspiracy, one involving war, lies, a private server run by the Republican Party and contempt of Congress citations—all of it still unsolved and unpunished.

Clinton’s email habits look positively transparent when compared with the subpoena-dodging, email-hiding, private-server-using George W. Bush administration. Between 2003 and 2009, the Bush White House “lost” 22 million emails. This correspondence included millions of emails written during the darkest period in America’s recent history, when the Bush administration was ginning up support for what turned out to be a disastrous war in Iraq with false claims that the country possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and, later, when it was firing U.S. attorneys for political reasons.

Like Clinton, the Bush White House used a private email server—its was owned by the Republican National Committee. And the Bush administration failed to store its emails, as required by law, and then refused to comply with a congressional subpoena seeking some of those emails. “It’s about as amazing a double standard as you can get,” says Eric Boehlert, who works with the pro-Clinton group Media Matters. “If you look at the Bush emails, he was a sitting president, and 95 percent of his chief advisers’ emails were on a private email system set up by the RNC. Imagine if for the last year and a half we had been talking about Hillary Clinton’s emails set up on a private DNC server?”

The start point for me is that it's a tragedy that either Trump or Clinton is about to be elected POTUS. Surely America deserves better ... surely America can do better than these two.

The point about these latest e-mails that David and other Clinton apologists miss is while they may or may not constitute wrongdoing (yet to be proven) they will serve to reinforce the perception among American voters (currently 60%+) that Clinton is untrustworthy ... so the real question is how will this play out. Is it the tipping point that will lead to the 'soft' Hillary vote to abstain (or switch) ... is it the tipping point that will persuade some of the 'soft' Trump vote to hold their noses and vote Red.

It is somewhat delicious irony that Clinton is now experiencing what Trump did with the still to be proven groping (or worse) allegations. I guess what goes around comes around.

I still think Clinton is odds on to win. There is a lag before the full impact of this latest story reflects in the polls but already 538 is recording a small narrowing of the gap between her and Trump. Time will tell as to whether that small movement morphs into an avalanche ... it's going to have to if Trump is to win.

But, no matter the result, America is the loser.

and I'm not sure of what to make of the reported comment by Julian Assange that his next dump of Clinton e-mails due later this week will see 'her' arrested.

Julian Assange ... up until a few weeks ago he was the poster boy for the 'Left' dealing it to the 'Right'.

Interesting times.

The point about these latest e-mails that David and other Clinton apologists ...

I am not a "Clinton apologist", as should be clear from my other postings. I have simply pointed out the hypocrisy of the Rethuglicans.

Do you not recall my recent post that Obama should can the election and tell both parties to get a proper candidate?

However, when there is a choice between Clinton, who at least has experience in government and can articulate policy, and an Orange Orangutan who behaves like a 5 year old with a permanent tantrum, then the choice is clear.

The biggest worry now is not that Trump will win, but that he will "do a Palin" and quit after a few months, leaving Mike Pence as POTUS. Pence, who denies science, thinks condoms are too modern, wants women to be forced to give birth, believes "Intelligent Design" is scientifically accurate, and that "gay conversion therapy" works.

Trump may well be a fool, but Pence is a dangerous, Christian Extremist, fool.

The Veteran said...

David ... I dismissed your post about Obama canning the election as inviting anarchy and beneath intelligent comment.

Don't have a great view on Pence except to note that a number of polls have him as the best of the four on offer.

David my friend,

What we are witnessing is the worst corruption scandal in the History of the United States of America

The Email server is just the tip of the iceberg - it existed to keep Hillary Clinton's correspondence out of the purview of all the systems that provide oversight of the actions of Public officials

Its existence was revealed when the State Department was unable to provide the Hillary Clinton's correspondence relating to Benghazi - a still mysterious event and apparently 33000 Email were scrubbed after congress subpoenaed them - that in itself is a crime

But it goes way beyond this - for example huge arms deals signed off by HC after Bill received "birthday gifts" of millions of dollars

The truth is out there and there is more to come

Even if Hillary is elected her presidency will be crippled and probably short - there is no way the American people will rally behind her. There is already a revolt in the FBI over the way the Email thing has been handled

And Obama who was going to campaign with her this week is no longer going to do so

I think it is over

You forgot Colin Powell.

Noel said...

Andrei the reason the FBI never presented a case for prosocution was because they could not prove wilfil intent.
I doubt that this will be reason to cripple her Presidency.
More likely it is the makebup of congress.

Its unusual that Kim Dotcom seems to have not made the local NZ news organs on this topic as he has overseas.

Comey will release nothing. You don't release classified evidence of treason. You arrest and then execute the traitor. b

Angry Tory said...

You're all missing the point.

The FBI - not just Comey, but the whole leadership of the FBI - have just issued the strongest possible negative statement about a presidential candidate that they are permitted under the law and constitutional. The wording is anodyne: but the choice to issue any kind of statement 11 days out from the election has only one meaning: the FBI has firm evidence that Clinton must not be elected President. If they said anything stronger, Lynch & Obama would have had no choice by to immediately fire Comey and the rest of 'em - which would kind of destroys the point of making the statement in the first place.

There is no way Comey did this lightly. We know he talked to Lynch & DOJ staffers, probably FBI lawyers, and they told him not to say anything. We know however that no FBI agent or manager (even the D'RAT who got $1M from the Clinton Foundation) has resigned over this statement. That means the statement has the full support and backing of the FBI. More to the point: Comey and co have bet the entire FBI - and in fact the NYPD, NSA and probably CIA - on Clinton being obviously, clearly absolutely criminally or constitutionally unable to be President.

Why? well for a start, not just precedent, but also the US law has huge penalties for federal officials influencing elections. Even moreso than NZ, in the US Comeys career would be over, the whole FBI management teams careers would be over, they're looking at massive fines and substantial jail time. More than that, if the FBI comes out against Clinton 11 days before the election, and it turns out to be a beat up, well that is the reputation of the entire FBI completely trashed forever. If Clinton wins, she now has no choice but to completely purge the FBI or close it down and rebuild the capacity in the CIA or DHS - and would be quite in her rights to do so.

The only way this makes sense is that the FBI has discovered irrefutable evidence of Clinton's "treason or high crimes or misdemeanours" that they felt they must signal to the voters not to elect Clinton. That's evidence of Espionage (e.g knowingly sending classified emails on an insecure server) or Treason (sending those emails on that server knowing Russia or China or ISIS would read them). If ISIS read them, then that's treason in time of war. That's how strong the evidence must be. This is not Nixon level stuff: it's the Rosenbergs.

Why not then just release the evidence? First, because it would completely torpedo the criminal case the FBI is now building against Clinton: you don't release the most crucial, most damning evidence before your case is lodged, and ideally before offender is safely in remand behind bars. Second, no doubt, because most of it will of course be classified. If the FBI screws this up they are themselves responsible for leaking classified information to the enemy in time of war. So they will be very very careful. (The FBI released very little evidence on the Rosenbergs between there arrest and execution, and nothing before their arrest --- that's why so many liberals think they were innocent!)

So: if they got it wrong, Comey and basically the whole FBI is over. Comey and the DBI will only have made the statement, sent the letter that the did if they have already found completely damning evidence on Abedin's computer of Clinton's espionage or/and treason. Because they'd be clearly guilty of illegally rigging the election if they made that statement for anything less.

Noel said...

'llGeez Angry Tory.
The evidence threshold to make a prosecution was "wilful neglect". Having been able to reach that threshold they withdrew.
We may all have our personal opinions of treason but at the end of the day the only opinion that matters is the prosecutors.

I don’t know what will happen in Syria. I do know that the choice we have for who to make decisions on our behalf is between two people. One is a career politician, imperfect, ambitious, willing to fight dirty to win, perhaps overfond of military intervention, but one who has many policy positions with which I agree, and most importantly, someone who is sane and in touch with reality. The other is a spoiled child at 70, inexperienced, emotionally unstable, whose stated plans on national issues (where he has them) seem obviously wildly impractical and based solely on bluster, and whose ideas seem connected neither to reality nor each other. Whose supporters seem largely to be hateful fools who think saying something loudly enough makes it true.
