UN KNOWS WHATS IMPORTANT, THAT'S NICE.

While madmen toss homosexual men from second story buildings or strangle them at the end of a rope from a crane, while equally bereft of understanding women mutilate genitals of young girls, while other moronic learned elders of a religion fifteen hundred years old and almost unchanged since a power crazed sexual deviant  founder started killing, maiming, and enslaving his people, the good old UN is "concerned at the title chosen to replace CYFS in lil ole peaceable nu ziland".

Mind your own freakin business and perhaps search out some actual harm delivery state sponsored systems in places it appears are in a too hard basket.

The helpless little waifs and strays that come with the dross welfare delivers and are seriously at risk in the thinking of most citizens of our nation has led to the choice of the new drive to possibly reduce the killing and maiming of the poor wee buggers that make the news all too often and if they are not vulnerable, vunrable or whatever then the UN morons need to go to Specsavers.

Having discovered what the new name is, I must say I entirely agree with the UN.

Someone suggested a much more positive name "Ministry For Children's Wellbeing.'

Figures are somewhat out of date but a few years ago NZL was paying 7.3m as it's annual contribution to the UN budget ... for this!!!!!!!!!

Give me strength.

Grumpy old man syndrome from the back of the games room in the nursing home.

Dodger goes off on one if his rants as if the maltreatment of people by religious fundamentalists is the only problem the UN should consider. It has passed by his grey matter that the UN is a large organisation that is capable of doing more than one thing at a time.

But I suppose this stops him from being like this old man.

And Vet, you are getting a lot more than "this" for NZ's modest contribution. Try UNESCO, WHO, UNHCR, ITU, ICAO, WIPO, UNICEF, and so much more.

And before you go on a rant about its failure to be 100% perfect, it is a human organisation.

David ... I'm not against the UN. It's imperfect but at least it's forum which I can support on the basis of 'jaw, jaw is better than war, war' (not me, someone much better than I) and, as you said, a whole lot more. But this for c*********s. Some bureaucratic drone with too little to do trying to justify his/her existence.
