I don't think so, when the dust settles Northern Ireland and Scotland will re-establish their total reliance on the wealth created in England, in their feeble minds they sold to England years ago.

The only  reason  Ulster has remained beyond the reach of Dublin is The UK.

If Scotland has any delusions that they could replace British welfare from Europe and the dwindling oil reserves of the North Sea, in the now immortal words of Daniel Kerrigan in " The Castle", tell him he's dreamin".

Of course the Pound has taken a hit and the London financial markets have fallen.
For weeks Cameron, Osborne and the whole coterie of those who saw their reflected glory in Europe have been doing all in their power to threaten such an outcome.
Lets wait and see what eventuates, I believe it will not be as the doom merchants declared.

Oh and by the way Milt that is my belief system at work nothing to do with The Daily Mail, Pravda, The Peoples Voice, just opinion and belief.

I remember a friends sister having to hurry back to London when the first Gulf war kicked off because there was money to be made in futures where the gains were measured in pennies.

Sadly the time when the share market was purely determined on the basis of the performance of the companies listed has long gone.

Yes, the racists, the xenophobes and the baked bean lovers have united to "Make Britain Great Again" and in the process aided France to overtake the UK as the world;s 7th largest economy. Oh, the deliciously beautiful irony.

The only reason the Scots won't leave is that the EU won't have them --- because if the EU took in Scotland, Spain and France will break up too (Basques, Catalonia...)

The biggest thing about UKIP though is not even about Europe - it's about UK becoming independent again: independent of the bureaucracy and welfare state and bludging and benefits!

Which is why NZ needs an NZIP just as much as the UK still needs UKIP!
The point of leaving Europe was to get away from all the regulations about minimum wages, unions, working hours, "health and safety" and all the rest! Well NZ has just as many laws and regulations as anywhere in the EU: NZ needs NZIP to get rid of them in NZ just like UKIP will get rid of them in the UK!

How little you all know of the workings of the EU. Poor old Dodger and his old man rant's living in the past and thinking that the people who arranged the joining of the EEC forty years ago are alive and deserve a good kicking. Either that or the land mass of Britain is responsible for past decisions through some sort of osmosis of guilt.

Farage has now backtracked on his statement that the 350 mill per week given the EU would be given to the NHS. It was never 350 it is 190 and the NHS wont be getting it.

Cornwall, a low socio economic area which depends almost entirely on tourism, had one of the highest leave votes in the country.

This from the Cornish local authority...

“We will be insisting that Cornwall receives investment equal to that provided by the EU programme which has averaged £60m per year over the last ten years.”

European money has helped develop infrastructure, universities and broadband internet in the county. From 2007 to 2013, €654m was given to pay for these projects, the Financial Times reported.

Quite simply if it wasn't for the EU the distribution of money to areas like Cornwall would not have happened and if Scotland joined the EU they also would qualify for aid.......if the Cornish think that Westminster will top up the pot then they will be sadly disappointed. This is what happens when you vote with your heart and not your head.

We live in a complex and integrated world now and judging from some of these posts the posters are are ill equipped to survive in it outside their bubble.

UKIP is finished and Farage is toxic and will disappear off the political scene.

UKIP is on track to replace Labour (they already have in the EU elections!) - Corbyn will be gone before Cameron - and Farage England's George Washington!

The UK is independent of the EU and will soon be independent of the Euro-communism it has been living under since 1950!

NZ needs an NZIP as much as the UK needed UKIP.

There seems to be this delusion among right-wingers that Scotland's some kind of economic backwater that couldn't possibly make it as a country on its own. Try looking at the actual numbers.

England's current economic success is mostly based on the glorified Ponzi schemes that are the global finance industry. How attractive does the English finance industry look once it's cut off from Europe? Anybody's guess - I suppose we'll find out, but my money wouldn't be on this being a great victory for the English economy.
