A mythical Scottish town that awakens for one day every 100 years  was called Brigadoon.

With Mr EPMU betrothed to Material Girl from the McGillicuddy Serious Party, a fairy tale is born and serious analysis suggests they may awaken perhaps every hundred years.
With Annette as Matron of honour and Best man Shaw wondering if he could be somewhere else, cringe worthy hardly seemed adequate.

What will the dopey right of centre GP supporters do now the evidence is graphically signalled that the union, pun intended, is the dominant driver of the socialists policy and candidate selection processes.
Totally blinkered and labouring, another pun, under the false impression that The Melons primarily believe that the environment is paramount even though the truth is they are far left socialists who have embraced the Green cloak for electoral success..
Together they have abandoned the middle ground that Helen Clark and then John Key occupied as the only way to power in NZ under our chaotic MMP system that allows morons who don't have to convince more than around 10/15% if the voters across the nation to enable them to reach the Parliament.

Peters will be puzzling how to get the chaos to where he can do another act with two phones only this time he will need Red, Green, his own  Black and white and possibly the racists red black and white one, a political group that he has been doing his best to alienate in recent times.

Farrar has it right the whole mirage is nothing new except that now the illustrated pictorial news is there for all to see the reality that many fringe GP voters have ignored for years.

Interesting times indeed.

Trump or Clinton?

Here’s my humble attempt to put into words the reasons I favour Trump as the next American President.

Let me say at the start I don’t consider Trump to be an ideal candidate, whereas I did think Romney was in that category, last time round.  We have to deal with what we have in front of us and at this stage it appears almost a foregone conclusion that the contest will be fought between two imperfect candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

My rationale is simple.  I favour the candidate who will (a) do the least damage;  (b) turn the economy from stagnation to growth and (c) get rid of the numerous excesses of the Obama regime.

Here goes – not in order of preference or importance.

Foreign Policy

Obama rightly has been judged a fool by America’s adversaries.  No better example can be found that the remark by a senior Iranian official that ‘we must move quickly to take advantage of this wonderful thing that is happening in the White House’ or words to that effect.  Clinton proved herself incompetent in Libya and she will not change.  On the other hand Trump will be feared because of his alleged irrationality.  I doubt very much Putin would have dared carry on the way he did in Crimea and Ukraine if he had not known that Obama would not lift a finger. (Clinton’s e-mails probably told him that.)

Israel has been given a very hard time by Clinton and Obama.  I think Trump will be much more supportive of the only true democracy in the Middle East.  Hence his pledge to wind back the appalling ‘Nukes For Iran’ deal done by Obama without approval from Congress.

The US Economy

Trump has made it pretty clear he wants to put America’s unemployed back to work quickly.  Among other things he has signaled the go ahead for the Keystone pipeline; significant income tax cuts; reduced government spending (unspecified) if elected.  That’s not a bad start.

Much ballyhoo has been made of his pronouncements on this issue.  Where Muslims are concerned, to my knowledge he has never proposed a blanket ban on their entry to the US.  As far as I can see he has suggested immigration to the US by Muslims should be suspended until the authorities can satisfy him that they are capable of properly vetting those immigrants.  Eminently sensible and certainly not a ban by any stretch.

Trump proposes, one way or another, to put a stop to further illegal immigration from Mexico.  That’s no small task and it does not address the matter of the millions of existing illegal immigrants from Mexico in the country.  Of one thing you can be certain.  He sure as hell won’t be giving them the vote.

Other Domestic Policy

The whole federal administration has been politicized by Obama, in ways never seen before.  Inland Revenue, Health, Justice and EPA to name just three.  Trump has signaled the end of Obamacare but I have not yet seen any comment from him on the appalling behavior of IRS, EPA and Justice.

The Constitution

Obama has made an art form of bypassing Congress and acting by presidential dictum.   Trump has made it clear he will abide by constitutional requirements for congressional approval

Well, that will do for a start.

Lindsay Mitchell will be known to many of you for her comments on this blog.   Lindsay also has her own blog at http://lindsaymitchell.blogspot.co.nz

I have just finished reading her report, commissioned by Family First, titled 'Child Poverty & Family Structure ... What the evidence is telling us'.   It's a must read.

Lindsay examines household incomes and family structures from the early 1960s through to the current day.   She argues that while unemployment, low wages, high housing costs and insufficient social welfare benefits are constantly blamed on child poverty, a major culprit - if not the major culprit - is family malformation ... that is a lack of two married committed parents.   Lindsay adduces the following evidence in support of her thesis:

  • Despite families being much smaller, parents being older, mothers being better educated and having much higher employment rates, child poverty has risen significantly since the 1960s.
  • In 1961 95% of children were born to married couples; by 2015 the proportion had fallen to 53%.   For Maori and in 1968 72% of births were to married parents but by 2014 this had fallen to just 21%.
  • In 2015 27% of registered births were to cohabiting parents.   But the risk of parental separation by the time the child is aged five is however 4-6 times greater than for married parents.
  • Single parent families  make up 28% of all families with dependent children.   These families are the poorest in New Zealand.
  • 51% of children in poverty live in single parent families.
  • Single parents have the lowest home ownership rates and the highest debt rates.

The paper draws the conclusion that our rapidly changing family structure has contributed significantly to increasing income inequality.

Copies of the report can be downloaded for free at www.familyfirst.org.nz

Say it again ... well done Lindsay.

I'd Like To See Them Try

Labour, that is.

I'd like to see them try to close down Charter Schools because they'll be up against some very impressive opposition.

This, just in from the ACT Party newsletter.

Realising the potential of every child

E Tipu e Rea supports existing, new and prospective Partnerships Schools | Kura Hourua
to help them deliver outstanding educational opportunities for their students

The board includes the following eminent New Zealanders:

Rob McLeod,  Dame Jenny Gibbs,  Michael 'Iceman' Jones, Ken Rapson, Bruce Ritchie and Dame Tariana Turia.

All strength to their arms, I say.

Forgot to add - I wonder when Labour's insane opposition to charter schools will start to erode its party vote among Maori?  Has it done so already?  David Farrar, where are you?

until the massive contribution of men and economic resources from the previously neutral United States of America, tipped the scales against Kaiser Bill's military industrial complex, well away from the front lines where thousands of soldiers were slaughtered daily.
Ordinary soldiers killed in mind boggling military tactics that only served to prove Einstein's theory that had 'insanity' described as doing the same stupid thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome.

As the Media Party launch fruitless attacks at the Key forces in efforts that mirror the pointless "over the Top" trench warfare of WW1 it seems that only history might reveal the abject failure to the socialists.

Over a decade of failure to land anything other than superficial wounds, the socialists and their media allies still cant grasp the scope of their ineptitude.

Personal attacks on Key figures in the National party, unless revealing genuine lapses in  standards set by the leader, as in Richard Worth's case, all have had the threat of a grenade with no charge to explode. The "dummy" replicas had only the potential to bruise and/or cause abrasions.

NZLP President, Mike Williams spent precious Party funds on a search of Company  records in Melbourne where the massive exposed failures of  Elders Finance destroyed careers, in a failed commando raid that was going to lead to evidence that could have Helen Clark's emerging nemesis shot at dawn after a summary kangaroo court verdict.
Another gross failure was the pathetic attempt to make Minister Judith Collins efforts on behalf of NZ Inc with a brief visit to the China offices of Orivida where here husband works in the Dairy Export field,  somehow suspect.
The dairy sector  that was the major contributor to NZ Inc's successful  navigation through the terrible weather that was the Global Financial Crisis, J C's actions could only be helpful in the, often strange to westerners, strategic thinking of our new found Asian inscrutable economic partners.

Over the eight years that Team John Key has guided the NZ economy in ways that has the rest of the developed world watching on in awe, the socialists bereft of any other strategy apart from increasing or introducing taxes to enable further bribing of an ignorant electorate with the mirage of "free" stuff. Such illusory smoke and mirrors creations that increasing numbers of net taxpayers are learning is just their hard earned money being converted from productive to wasteful  via the always counter-productive churn that is bureaucratic manipulation of government revenue collection and disbursement.

In the last two days more ineffectual skirmishes have been launched by the Herald Battalion commanders. First in the Weekend Herald where it was headlined that Max Key had celebrated his 21st birthday at "THE PARNELL MANSION" of his dad, Who would have thought a man who  emerged from the world of International Finance with purported accumulated wealth in excess of fifty million dollars, might have chosen to buy a nice house in Parnell. Shucks that would be a first eh.
Has that same bunch of inept morons who make up the general staff of The Herald Battalion, ever described Mayoral aspirant, pretending to be no more a NZLP Party hack but the man for all, one Phil Goff, who has always offered the mirage he is one of his Mt Roskill workers, only to have it seen as the utter BS it really is. While  the very pertinent truth that Returning Troops Spitter, ex long haired layabout who has never held a real job in his entire miserable life of mediocrity, actually lives on a rambling "Country Estate" amongst the tree adorned spacious rural regions of greater Auckland.

Then this morning as the head liner for the NZH Battalion News, in its online edition, has a montage of three photos laid out for maximum potential damage in another instalment of the KDS doctrine.
First a photo of Kim Dot Com, convicted criminal of Finnish origin, German citizenry, fugitive from Hong Kong, and now under threat of deportation from NZ to The US to face Federal criminal charges. The same plonker who attempted with allies in the MSM to corrupt and manipulate the NZ electoral system for his judicial and pecuniary advantage but failed spectacularly when the voters of Te Tai Tokerau were mobilised to defeat his Judas Goat, Hadfield.
Second photo, a China citizen, Zhau Wu Shen alleged to be a major national donor to the National party,  not pictured but identified as Shen's best mate, one Bill Lu,  not revealed until deep in the orders of the day,  the much more shadowy figure who donated to the NZLP,  if anyone knows how much dosh, via cash collections in buckets that were never attributed to anyone, at dinners in an Auckland Restaurant.
Funny that the cash that reached the coffers of the NZLP  unsourced but effective and legally  "clean" while the entirely legal and declared money from Shen was documented, declared by National officers and in the public domain, was somehow 'bad'.
Then the third picture of the Montage, the Prime Minister to create the entirely fabricated "hit job".

If only Lance Corporal Savage could apply his obvious journalistic skills to reporting and back grounding the news instead of his pathetic pursuit of  this latest politically biased rubbish as used this morning in another failed raid across "no mans land". It may  even be just be possible for his witterings to be acknowledged as journalism, something that clearly is not the case at present. Then he might also begin a turnaround for his declining prospects as an employee of APN by making a start in the hoped for rejuvenation of NZ print media with the looming consolidation in the sector.

I wont hold my breath though, I think the dumbarses who are running the General Staff for The Little Army still think they will eventually succeed.

Incidentally, at present on tour and came upon a midweek edition late last week and the larger weekender yesterday (stolen from an absent neighbours driveway next door to present location by arrangement), to discover that the opprobrium that has been heaped on the pathetic efforts totally understated the magnitude as to how far the once great paper has fallen. The online edition masks that decline admirably, clearly deception and camouflage still has a place in ad hoc military  forces.

I read somewhere recently that if you are not enjoying your job, change it.

Yesterday in his Budget speech John Key was clearly enjoying himself. His merciless treatment of the hapless loop (leader of opposition) was a masterclass in political putdown.
The sad sack temporary Loop in his effort was churlish, humourless, and as inspiring as a worm on a fresh furrow with seagulls following the plough.

On my travels I picked up on this view of Helen Clark re her bid to become the UN Secretary General from a highly respected and influential political commentator ....

"Former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark is not regarded as a first-division candidate though none of the declared candidates can be absolutely ruled out.   She is regarded as a mediocre performer but, more importantly, the Americans system has deep memories that she, more than any other individual, was responsible for blowing up ANZUS and effectively taking New Zealand out of the Western alliance when she led the extreme anti-nuclear and anti-American forces in the New Zealand Labour Party".

Not sure that David Lange would agree with his demotion.

Interesting view from the other side.

36 members and associated persons of a four wheel drive club went into hill country on the Otago/ Southland provincial boundary last weekend and got caught out by deteriorating weather.

They were in suitable vehicles with adequate food, clothing and fuel on a planned trip.
A significant deterioration of weather left them stranded and in need of rescue, however none, either victims or rescuers required medical intervention

Now a growing chorus of armchair experts are suggesting they were authors of their own misfortune,  should be charged for the costs of their rescue, deserve the recovery costs of their vehicles and placed other rescuers at risk.

What utter bollocks!
I know some of these aficionados and they are not weekend warriors who take unacceptable risks.
As a group they are always available to launch a rescue for others in trouble.
Their vehicles are very advanced in a state of enhanced equipment and modification that enables a realistic response with winches, tow ropes, tyres, jacks, suspension development, tyres and chains.
The owners are dedicated and passionate in what they do.

Tourists and weekend walkers get into situations that have a greater potential for disaster regularly. There are reality TV shows that have supermen and women going to the West Coast beaches of Auckland and trying to drown themselves only to be thwarted by lifeguards.,
Skiers, climbers, mountain bikers, hikers and many others who choose to challenge the powers of nature and lose, and are never asked to pay a cent to the costs of their recovery as the tab is met in eye watering costs by those forced to pay levies to the ACC.

Last week four people died on Everest, recently a British ex-serviceman tragically died 50 kilometres from his goal of traversing the Antarctic Continent solo and unaided, every day people throughout the world die just trying to survive what nature and circumstance deliver.

Meanwhile in our little corner of the world a woman who has been forced out of three housing corp dwellings after they became toxic from "P" contamination is now living in a Motel at a very high cost to vote welfare while serving a one year stand-down from the Housing Corp waiting lists, has eight children and a current partner who has given up on paid employment as a "builder" to support his current root with another benefit.
There are many who spend their days riding a couch with drugs of choice paid for by a generous welfare system, and will in all probability end up as a bad debt to the Ambulance and local Emergency Department.

Now who wants to continue the assault on the entitlement under our social mores by forcing a bunch of citizens who will be first point of call for any civil disaster controller, to pay for their own rescue.

Remember Karma can have  a long memory.

Labour or Labour? What's The Difference?

Hot on the heels of Andrew Little's Otara housing cluster**** comes the Ocker version from Shorten and Co.

The two parties must have only one playbook between them.  Or could it be that Matt McCarten is moonlighting for Labor as he knows Labour hasn't got a show in NZ?

Have a look at this and laugh.

"Bill Shorten has apologised to a medical centre on the NSW Central Coast after a Labor campaign event never eventuated.
The Hammond Road Medical Centre in Toukley was under the impression it was hosting the opposition leader and his heath spokeswoman Catherine King last week.
Instead they went to a medical practice in Wyong, where Mr Shorten announced Labor would lift a freeze on indexed Medicare rebates.
George Fermanis, who manages the Hammond Road centre, says the clinic went to great lengths to organise the event, including catering, cancelling bookings and clearing the car park.
They expected to hold the event right up until the 10am start but were left stunned when nobody showed up.
“Nothing happened, not even a phone call or a common courtesy” Mr Fermanis told AAP.
“We are pretty pissed.
“If this is how he (Mr Shorten) feels about general practice and small business maybe he should stay on the other side.”"

That'll teach the bloody dumb socialist medicos to leave politics alone and stick to healing their patients.

She'd Know All About That

Fabricated evidence, that is.

Clark says allegations that she retaliated against a critical investigation of the UN by driving one of the investigators out of their job are "totally fabricated".

Just like the evidence used to discredit Police Commissioner Peter Doone.

How To Really Upset Leftoids

If only I knew how to do a reverse hack and send the following briefing notes to every Labour and Greens member in NZ.   Almost as good as telling them the Key dynasty will govern NZ for the next twenty-five years.

"Good afternoon
At 2pm tomorrow, Finance Minister Bill English will be delivering the National-led Government’s eighth Budget in Wellington.
Budget 2016 builds on the good progress we’ve made so far. It will focus on investing in a growing economy, supporting our most vulnerable people who need it most, and paying down debt.
Here’s your briefing note ahead of tomorrow’s Budget, with five points you should know:
  1. More than 200,000 jobs have been created over the past three years – that equates to around 180 new jobs every day.
  2. New Zealand has the third highest employment rate in the developed world.
  3. We’re on track for annual economic growth of about 3 per cent for the next few years.
  4. We’re also on track for rising surpluses and falling debt – we were one of the first developed countries to be back in surplus after the global financial crisis when we posted a surplus of $414 million last year.
  5. Budget 2016 will contain $1.6 billion in new spending. We’ve already announced funding for more lifesaving drugs, emergency housing, and to support our thriving tourism sector.
This year’s Budget will further advance our work to support a strong, growing economy. It’s only through a strong, growing economy that we’re able to create more jobs, lift wages and deliver better public services to those who need them most.

Been a hectic few weeks with a lot of international travel finishing off in Queensland 'hotting out' at Ellis Beach north of Cairns.    Some thoughts on political developments on the UK, the US and Oz with three important votes coming up in the next little while.

In the UK the polls re Brexit have tightened up to the point where it's too close to call.   One thing for sure.   If the vote is for 'Out' then David Cameron is a goner with Boris Johnson likely to take his place.   Certainly an Out vote would see the UK sailing into uncharted waters with the law of unintended consequences likely to be very much in play.   But what really surprised me was Winston Peters' speech to the House of Lords promoting Brexit.   In making that speech he broke a cardinal rule of politics which has it that politicians comment on another countries domestic politics at their peril.   To do so as a guest in their own Parliament shows an arrogance and a contempt for convention beyond belief.   Clearly Peters is happy to disregard the rules in order to generate a headline but one can only imagine his reaction if a UK politician had dared to argue in the New Zealand Parliament at the time of the flag referendum that voters should exert their independence.    But even more amazing was that Peters, in his speech, advocated a return to Imperial Preference as a way forward for the UK post Brexit ... talk about a great leap backwards to the 1950s and let's be very clear, when Peters talks about Imperial Preference he means the old White Commonwealth as if that still exists ... no 'darkie' nations need apply.   Whatever the outcome my sources tell me that Winston Peters is damaged goods in the UK.

I look forward to Lord Egbut's sage comment on Brexit and beyond.

Can I preface my next remarks by stating yet again that if Trump and Clinton is the best that the USA can come up with then that country is in a whole heap of trouble.   But the reality is that it's Trump vs Clinton (almost) unless Bernie Sanders' wet dream of the 'Black Swan' scenario comes into play where Clinton is indicted and forced to step down and he gets the nomination by default ... perhaps that's why he's still hanging in there.  In that respect it was interesting that Clinton has argued that the FBI was conducting a 'review' of matters surrounding her use of a private e-mail server while Secretary of State only to be slapped down by the FBI who said they were conducting an investigation because 'that's what the FBI is mandated to do'.

Another fascinating (for me) byplay to Clinton's bid for the nomination is the suggestion that she might pick Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as her running mate. Warren is on the liberal (progressive) wing of the Party in the mold of Sanders with the rationale being that she would help lock in the Sanders vote.   That aside, I think it would be a very big call, even for the Democrats, to go with an all female ticket.    I note too that Senator Harry Reid, their Minority leader in the Senate has moved to poor cold water on the proposal pointing out that Warren's election would see her replacement appointed by the Republican Governor of Massachusetts and likely to be a Republican thereby depriving the Democrats of one vote in the Senate.

We hear a lot in the media about possible defections from the Republican Camp to the Democrats and 'stay at home' Republican voters but not too much about the reverse although polls have it that upwards of 35% of those who voted for Sanders in the Democratic primaries and caucuses could defect to Trump such is the loathing of establishment politicians from both sides.   In the US I had the opportunity of discussing this with an old friend of mine from the Vietnam conflict who now serves in Congress as a member of the 'Blue Dog' (conservative) Democrat caucus.   His view is that all bets are off because there are new forces in play that politicians like him don't really have a handle on ... that the election will be determined in three/four key States including Ohio and Florida. Whatever ... the latest polls are interesting.  Three days ago (Sunday 22 May) NBC News and the Wall Street Journal had it at as Clinton 46% vs Trump 43% (Clinton plus 3%) while ABC News and the Washington Post had it as Trump 46% vs Clinton 44% (Trump plus 2%).

A week in politics is a long time ... five plus months an eternity.   Fascinating.

On to Oz.   IMHO Turnbull has made a huge mistake in going for a long drawn out campaign.   Gives Shorten more time in the limelight and, while that could cut both ways, on balance I think Turnbull will regret his decision.   That Labor will win seats is a given.   The real question is whether they will win enough to form a Government.   I think they will fall short.   A major factor is the virtual demise of the Palmer United Party which was a spoiler last time round.  Clive Palmer, who holds the seat of Fairfax, is standing down and facing investigation concerning the siphoning off of money from his now collapsed Queensland Nickel Refinery business.   The Liberals will regain that seat and it is unlikely the PUP will win any Senate seats (last time round they won three but two of their Senators - Glen Lazarus and Jacqui Lambie [remembered for her memorable interview - I'm looking for a man with lotsa dosh, big 'equipment' who knows how to shut his mouth] subsequently went Independent leaving the Party with only a single Senator, Dio Wang [who] from WA).

I will be watching two seats closely.   First, the seat of Batman in Victoria.   This is Labor's safest seat held by the David Feeney, their Shadow Minister for Veterans' Affairs with a 10.3% advantage over the Greens last time round on the two party preferred vote.    Fenney is in real trouble.   Just last week he was 'outed' as failing to declare a $2.3m investment property he owns on the register of Members Pecuniary Interests (ffs ... back in 2014, Barry O'Farrell, Premier of NSW, was forced to resign over his failure to declare a bottle of wine he received as a gift) neither did a declare a $1m+ apartment in Canberra (owned by his wife's Trust) that he lives in when Parliament is sitting while claiming a $271 per night 'travelling allowance' from the taxpayer.   It gets worse.   Feeney has long railed against property investors using 'negative gearing' as a means in minimising ones tax liability.   It is now revealed the Feeney has an extensive property portfolio where all the properties are negatively geared.   Clearly Feeney doesn't 'do' hypocrisy.   The Greens are targeting Batman and are concentrating their efforts in Victoria on that seat and the one other (Melbourne) which they already hold.   Labor is going apoplectic at the thought that the Liberals may Preference the Greens ahead of Labor to help them win the seat ... ffs (again)  quelle suprise.

The second seat I'll be watching is the New England seat won last time by Barnaby Joyce, the Nationals Deputy Leader, over the turncoat Tony Windsor, once National, later Independent whose vote helped prop up the Gillard Labor Government.   Windsor is contesting the seat yet again.    Knocking off Joyce would be a big call and I suspect he won't make it but, if he does, I can't see the L-NP coalition relying on his vote such is the enmity between them.

Two final points.   Both Parties are promising money like it's going out of fashion while ignoring the state of the books.    No-one really believes that Oz will be back in surplus in five years time.   The budget deficit for the coming FY is projected at $37.08b and likely to worsen before it gets better.    Finally, the many 'informed' Australians I spoke to look to the way New Zealand is performing with a mixture of admiration and envy.

The 'left' here will scoff but that's the reality.

Good to be home.   In Wellington on Thursday for the swearing in of my colleague, Judge Kelly.

Poor Little Petals

The Strayan Feral Gummint has announced subsidies for delinquent dairy farmers.

Approx $580 million worth of concessional loans, in fact.

Muldoon would have been proud.

If history is any guide, not only do these indigent cockies get a below market interest rate on their loans but they get to pay interest only for the first five years.

The concessional interest rate is currently 3.55 per cent (effective 1 February 2016).
This rate will continue to be reviewed on a six monthly–basis and may be adjusted to be in line with prevailing economic conditions.
The concessional rate of interest will apply to the first five years of the loan only, with commercial market lending rates applying to loans beyond the concessional interest rate period.

It is highly likely those farmers now holding their hands out, bought in during the last five years, using vastly over-optimistic budgets.

However, the bit which caught my eye was this:-

"Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has unveiled a $578.8 million support package for dairy farmers affected by the slashing of prices by processors Murray-Goulburn and Fonterra."

I expect better reporting from The Australian than this crude attempt to blame the dairy companies for a world wide downturn in milk prices.  Here's the corrected version.

"Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has unveiled a $578.8 million support package for dairy farmers affected by the continuing decline in world market prices for milk products."

Another gem of special interest from the same piece:-

The plan’s key features include $555m in concessional loans and $20m to accelerate an upgrade of irrigation infrastructure in Nationals-held seat of Gippsland.
They need big barrels for their pork in the state of Victoria.

Here They Go Again

The Telegraph reports on Islamic State's experiments with and intentions for chemical weapons.

"Islamic State has moved its chemical weapons operation to densely populated residential areas and is testing homemade chlorine and mustard gas on its prisoners, residents of the Iraqi city of Mosul have claimed.
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) is reported to have set up laboratories in built-up neighbourhoods in the heart of its so-called caliphate to avoid being targeted by coalition air strikes."

What a bugger for the Democrats.  If Crooked Clinton wins in November she might for the second time find herself voting for an invasion of Iraq.  Of course later she will claim she was for it before she was against it.

Quote of The Week

From Paul Monk at The Australian.

"Paparazzi-style pouncing on political leaders in efforts to generate sensations or scandals are a direct abuse of the public mind, not a service to it."

Labour, TVNZ, RNZ, Herald and DomPost take note.

How To Have A Bomb Put On Board An Aircraft

It's quite easy really.

Especially when the authorities employ a Somali immigrant Islamic State sympathizer as a baggage handler.

"Bashir is therefore the second co-conspirator to have held a critical safety job at the airport. The first to have been publicly identified was Abdirizak Warsame, at a pretrial hearing this past December. He worked on the tarmac as a baggage handler and then as a de-icer for two different employers."

Every morning I read The Australian and The Wall Street Journal, both papers written and edited by adults with excellent commentary alongside the news.

Then I open The Herald and cringe.  Wall to wall attacks on John Key and National - day after day after day.

The latest group-think mob-rage is the so called housing crisis in which thousands of illegal immigrants allegedly are sleeping in South Auckland subhuman conditions.  Illegal immigrants/  What illegal immigrants?  I hear you say.

Te ones who are overstayers and who are bludging off their low income,  hard working, church going rellies.  These are the people who a KB commenter who works with them admitted 'can't just go off to Winz and get help.'  The best help they could get would be deportation to a warmer climate.

Raybon Kan should wake up and realise that John Key is not the Mayor of Auckland city.  It is Len Brown and his cronies who are directly responsible for the shortage of housing in Auckland.  Yet Kan seems to think the PM is the Messiah who can turn bullshit into bricks.

In Kan's world it is the responsibility of the PM to see that illegal immigrants are properly housed.

Now there's another vote winner for Kelvin Davis.

Well there is another mark on her CV.

Jacinda Ardern is now a top legal brain to go with her usual muppetry.

She finds the Moko Murder down sized to Manslaughter "UNFATHOMABLE".

Here is the News Moron, those we trust to run things judicial considered getting a Guilty plea to Manslaughter where a Life sentence is still an option for the Judge, a better outcome than the dismissal that occurred with the Two for one killings of Kris and Kru Kahui. Both those ferals walked free, or did that escape YOUR ten second attention span.

Sheesh the next point of contact for the two who killed Moko in such appalling circumstances, who would in my world of genetic selection be sterilized  forthwith, will come when a judge sentences the two sadistic mongrels, then Ms Ardern, newly anointed judicial intellectual giant, you may well become unfathomable in your assessment of what is the next disgusting chapter but for now STFU.

On The Panama Papers Debacle

So the Labour Party stumbles on to its next frustrating episode in the long running comedy Road Runner, in which - as if you didn't know - Andrew Little is the for ever falling flat on his face, Wile E Coyote.

However, enough of the fools in the Labour Party who deserve all the derision they get.

What of the journalists?  That's what I'm interested in today.

From afar, I'm not sure who they are, so I hope someone will enlighten me in comments.  How odd that TVNZ wouldn't even name them.

"the investigation into the Panama Papers New Zealand is a journalistic collaboration by reporters from ONE News, RNZ News and investigative journalist Nicky Hager.
It has been carried out with the assistance of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and the German newspaper Süddeutshe Zeitung."

 Meanwhile, a couple of points.

How far do they have to go before they are deemed to bring their employers into disrepute?  They seem to have done a pretty good job in this case.

What does it tell you about their lack of street smarts when they embark on a major political hit job which Blind Freddie could have told them was doomed from the start?  Do they not understand that the market for journalists is about to contract in a big way and the employment prospects for their ilk will be particularly bleak?

When will they recognize Hagar for the fraud he is?  Nothing he has claimed has ever turned out to be true, as far as I can recall.  Not even his outbursts against Helen Clark.

Why are these journalists so possessed by Key Derangement Syndrome?  Do they not know that John Key could shoot dead a dozen pseudo journalists in Courtney Place and middle New Zealand would say 'Well done, John.  Great job you're doing with the economy.  Keep it up.'  It's as if their Holy Grail is some piece of dirt on the PM.   Why is this so?  Do they want bragging rights to laud it over Mike Williams?

Of one thing you can be sure.  If anyone of these characters floated ashore in Australia, he or she wouldn't last five minutes in a country where most real journalists do real journalism.  The good ones don't run around with media studies degrees. Most of them have Masters degrees at least in specialist fields.  Of course, the exceptions are the luvvies at the ABC.

from Macbeth
A dark Cave. In the middle, a Caldron boiling. Thunder.                Enter the three Witches.       1 WITCH.  Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
2 WITCH.  Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
3 WITCH.  Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!
       1 WITCH.  Round about the caldron go;
    In the poison'd entrails throw.—
    Toad, that under cold stone,
    Days and nights has thirty-one;
    Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH.  Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
    Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
       3 WITCH.  Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
    Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
    Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
    Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
    Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
    Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
    Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
    Finger of birth-strangled babe
    Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
Make the gruel thick and slab:
    Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingrediants of our caldron.
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH.  Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Seven morons, lead by a master dealer in stolen property that include six wannabe journalists have toiled in a bunker for weeks over reams of paper that were going to have John Key resigning last Tuesday only to have it  all turn to the pinch of goat poo the Panama (not to be confused with Venezuela) Papers always were.
The Herald  reports that  after a bunch of the IRD finest have combed the trawl and decided that there were only 200 Trusts registered in NZ and all were compliant in disclosure.
Add in the fact that NZ has extensive links sharing such disclosure with as many Overseas jurisdictions as wish such sharing and what has the very expensive often taxpayer subsidised media revealed. Well it appears only a lot of egg on face and we will never know if that egg was obtained from an organic source.

In the interests of a balanced unbiased professional media it is time for the government to seriously decide to put Radio New Zealand and TVNZ  on the block and force the morons who depend upon the taxpayer to fund their socialist inspired white anting to ply their trade in the real world where the Market will apportion success and reward.

Hagar The Horrible has again only confirmed his basis of KDS for all to see and the next round of polling should treat the disgusting and moronic socialist cabal with their deserved disdain.

Even the dumbest student who has enrolled in the plethora of subsidised journalistic courses whether failed or graduated, the decade of personal attacks on Key is right up there as a total tactical failure.

Hang about Will Shakespeare your writings are going to be acknowledged in the future where as the current creators of mythical entertainment will be forgotten tomorrow.

What's In A Name.

Now that the idea of Fairfax and APN merging their NZ news operations has slithered off the front pages, it behooves NZers to think up a name for this new organization which will continue to spew out the same old junk with the help of less then the current employee muster of 3,000 people.

I must admit I was staggered to see that number of people employed.  No wonder they can't make any money.  Anyway, what's in a name?

Some bright spark over at KB has suggested "Stuff_ME" which is very clever.

The best I can do is "Stuff and Nonsense."

As an aside, I really don't see why the Commerce Commission should take more than a week to determine there will be no loss of competition.   There is nothing to stop a new player stepping up to start up a newspaper which actually reports news and provides intelligent commentary on separate pages.

Just ask Coles and Woolworths in Australia about the so-called strength of their duopoly.  Aldi and now Walmart are making a joke of that.

After two days of desperation from an impotent opposition trying to link the  PM to the stolen data base that is of no import, Key facing another inane effort from the sultans driver/gun for hire/SAS impersonator/onetime motor-pool frontman(person), Key managed to get himself tossed out for ignoring the Speaker on his feet.

Here is the News, New Zealand is not a Tax Haven, it is merely a safe,  prosperous, democratic state enjoying one of the safest profitable stable banking sectors in the world, and having a "Trust" regime that is open and under serious watch of our reasonably incorruptible Inland Revenue Department.
That said, of course corrupt people from here at home or other jurisdictions can and will make attempts to use that safe-haven and some will escape detection.
The lawful and legal system should not be accused of smears because thousands,  citizens and foreigners take entirely legal opportunities to protect legitimately acquired funds whether large or small  domiciled in NZ.

Of course the chorus of ineptitude that emanates from the ignorant whose only exposure to money comes in the form of 'OPMs' or taxes, rates and other largesse purloined from its creators by legislative power for those very same numpty troughers to pretend is free money, entitled funds  or as is usual misdirected spending that not only fails to deliver but is unrecoverable either by refund or benefit. To wit the apparent failure for the perennial scrooge bathing in levies taken under false pretences from hard working union members, the angry little man has so little to divulge either under his legal obligations of disclosure for MPs or his totally dead snapper production of  tax returns

My take on what the PM said in the house was based on published analysis of the papers in the form of a 'data base' on the internet, he made no accusations about the embarrassing data or its 'names', merely repeated what the data revealed as published.

That Carter gave the PM  his exit strategy was only notable for the fact that it is difficult to imagine the Harridan aka Margaret Wilson doing similar to Ms Helen Elizabeth Clark when she had opportunity aplenty.
Mind you her 'finger nails on a blackboard'  impersonation was harder to miss than Carters efforts.

Questions swirl around the twenty thousand plus diamond ring donated by Michael Hill to the 'winner' (sic) of "The Batchelor" after Jordan "The Dirty Rat" Mauger gives Fleur from Waipawa the flick.

Hear is hoping that for TV3 and the sponsors the "no such thing as bad publicity theory"  holds good.

In breaking news:

Mexico to send the entire  Panama Papers to Venezuela in hard copy as relief for the serious shortage of Toilet Tissue!

As I Was Saying

A day or two ago I commented to the effect that Trump was looking in pretty good shape to knock over Clinton - if he could just do a little to appear more of a statesman than a showman.  I should have added that his choice of a vice presidential running mate might have some influence as well.

Here's an interesting snippet from today's news trawling.

" What ought to have Hillary and the DNC looking nervously over at the panic button is the exit poll finding that 44 percent of Bernie voters say they will vote for Trump if Bernie is not the nominee."

Crooked Hillary may be about to find that it takes more than a few billion dollars and a world beating capacity for lies and treachery to win an election.

It's worth repeating that I'd have preferred some candidate other than Trump as nominee but he is far and away preferable to the God awful, appalling Clinton.

Pimping For Paradise at the New York Times

"This morning, a classic New York Times correction:
Because of an editing error, an article on Monday about a theological battle being fought by Muslim imams and scholars in the West against the Islamic State misstated the Snapchat handle used by Suhaib Webb, one of the Muslim leaders speaking out. It is imamsuhaibwebb, not Pimpin4Paradise786.
That’s quite an “editing error.” One suspects there is a story behind it."

Adolf wonders with which rival paper the NYT shortly will merge.

And The Beat (Up) Goes On

On it last day of life as it was known, the Herald has a pathetic rerun of Phil Twyford's 'Chinks Are All Evil' effort.  Here's the opener:

Nearly 60 per cent of New Zealand houses sold to foreign buyers went to Chinese investors, new data shows.

My God, that's appalling!!!  But when you read down a little you find the evil Chinese investors bought just 2% of all homes sold in NZ.  Yes that's right a lousy TWO PERCENT of all sales.  Just 276 houses across the whole country.  I'll lay good money on the table that the majority of these would have been bought by parents of university students as a better option than paying rent for three or four years.

No wonder these disgusting useless bastards have to merge with the other useless bastards.

Whaleoil covers the suggested Christchurch City decision to call the increasing numbers of "beggars" who are converging on the minimalistic CBD centered around Ballantynes Dept Store, as "Buskers",  who under existing bylaws can be moved on after one hour of extortionate activity.

To all those who are perpetrating the "Myth" that The Panama Papers are destroying our international reputation, what do you say about the increasing numbers who are degrading themselves by begging on our streets?
In this world of welfare, that creates a security blanket for all, begging is just a blight,  bludgers being bloody minded
Where did the Laws of "Idle and Disorderly  with no visible means  of support " disappear to.

As an insomniac I use Radio to reduce stress from tinnitus and recently have been enduring Bruce Russell leading a charge for the Panama Papers to be used as a cudgel to beat up on the Prime Minister.
Sorry Bruce, I am certain that beggars on our streets for whatever reason is far more embarrassing and image destroying of our beautiful generous, caring country than any beltway issues around the  laws on foreign trusts will ever be and the reality is the begging is not necessary.

I recall comic  scenes that became cartoon like, of dishevelled old men sporting sandwich boards walking pavements in some reference to the end of the world and today is another instance.

There was an old fable about a little boy who cried wolf, alarming the village until it became ignored due to many false alarms until one sad day there really was a wolf and said little boy was eaten.

Add in the many tales in my formative years where ogres, pirates, giants, wicked step mothers, bad sheriffs, thieves and vagabonds were a constant threat to the idyllic fantasy world children inhabited.

Plus there were the parables that emanated from the Ministry of Jesus with lessons and messages of how to be a better citizen.

Monday May 9th 2016 we are being bombarded with messages from sources that 'once upon a time' would equal many of the disasters that predicated the four scenarios above except there is only one "baddie" and a plethora of goodies masquerading as wannabe leaders, bringers of glad tidings, thespians acting out street theatre tragedies, and astride it all one John Doe.
No white steed, no message of hope, no over-riding saviour just a mess of pottage that because of one man,  the world as we know it will end tomorrow Tuesday the 10th of May.
The baddie is John Phillip Key, Jew, Banker, liar, mastermind, evil, incorrigible, and a threat to the people.
Strangely,  he has apparent support from around half the people he rules over, but that is in itself a myth as the basis of the figures that create that mirage are manipulated, selectively sourced and totally unreliable.
The truth is and if you doubt my assessment just ask Andrew Little, Penny Bright,  Martyn Martin Bradbury, Materia Turei, James Shaw, or any of the other poor wee lambs who are  being suffocated and stultified by the megalomaniac Nasty Bastard who single handedly stands between them and their unfulfilled desires to make the world  a better place, John Phillip Key must be gone by close of play tomorrow.

What the moronic rabble who are shrilling these already known and understood so called tales of "Tax Havens"  that are destroying the moral  fabric and reputation of NZ Inc, completely ignore is the very salient truth that to the entire world at large NZ has all the relevance of the Faroe Islands or even St Helena on the international stage.
Now come on how many could actually place a pin in a world map where either of those two outposts exist, and many could suggest both are mythical
The number of world citizens who give a monkeys testicle about NZ's reputation is close to zero in percentage terms while the demented KDS infected,  here in Gods Own are doing their very best to raise awareness, both here and overseas, Overseas don't care and NZ voters are turning off the whole charade in droves.
