I have explained why State TV infotainment hour plays here and at 1800 hours I am firmly fixed where swmbos wants have it playing beyond my Laptop and due to her medical issues it runs quite loud.
Last night Commie Dann was wetting hisself as he "exposed Keys complicity in the Panama Papers".
No mention of the origins of the legislation from the Clark Administration that sets up the framework for the misnomered Tax Haven legislation.
No mention of any US or Israeli citizens participation or benefit, strange little fact really.
No attempt to explain the almost benign involvement of current Tax law that is quite overt in its umbrella coverage of legal ramifications over the entirely legal Trusts involved.

Just saturation using of names designed to make the item highlight some rather dodgy connections and with their item having a spitting angry little socialist moron placed conveniently in the lead in to maximise the intended linkage to the "corrupt Key Government".

Then in the next item, equally nonsensical, it replaced the use of Little with another current joke, "larping fatty jade adorned one" as the voice of reason, sheesh lucky the 48 inch survived for the Rugby Nation that I actually wanted to watch , later.

As I claimed in the header, in a word, cynical.

Our tv was in danger as well.

I think NZ has good cause to be worried as the world is looking for scapegoats. Already the main Chinese language newspaper is laying into NZ as an example of corruption while blocking all internet access and searches linked to Panama.

This little shitstorm has a long way to run and we have only just opened the 11 million page book. It's happening on PM Keys watch so he is responsible for the fix.

Legbut, you're dreaming. There's nothing to fix.

Nothing to fix? We're providing overseas crims and tax-evaders who have money-laundering requirements with a foreign-trust service that asks almost no questions and therefore can't provide foreign jurisdictions with any useful info at all about the activities of said crims and tax evaders. As if this wasn't bad enough all by itself, our bankster PM has ignored recent advice from the IRD that this money-laundering facility opens us up to reputational damage, which damage is now happening. To cap it off, above-mentioned bankster PM has only in the last few weeks been talking up the idea of us getting even further into tax-haven territory. If the news reports are featuring the name "Key" a lot, they've very good reason to.

Remind me again people, who was it in the early eighties suggested that Farming was a "sunset industry" and New Zealand's best future lay in becoming "the Switzerland" of the Pacific basin, Oh and what Great Party was he leader of?

The 2013 OECD report is here (111 pages)

Basically the report finds NZ "compliant" with just one "largely compliant". Both OECD and Govt comment that work is being taken to improve that particular area so the real question to ask is what progress has been made to achieve 100% compliance.

From what I can see of the publicity is that there are significant numbers of people who believe in double taxation.
