Of course he's innocent until proven guilty, but I have to say that James Sanders, pillar of the Morman Church up here in Northland, standing trial and charged with 38 offences of sexual abuse against thirteen young girls, some as young as six, certainly came up with an interesting/novel defense in claiming that, in the school care center run by his wife, protocol had it that 'tickling' was allowed as long as it was not for sexual gratification.    Details here.

We will have to wait and see just how the logic of that argument plays out in Court but one might have thought that, in this day and age, such 'interaction' was fraught with danger.

Interesting indeed.

Who laid the complaints?

Is this another 'Peter Ellis' in the making?

He should convert to Islam. The liberals and feminists will be making all sorts of excuses for him.

I agree with anonymous. He will also be trumpeted as Christian (which Mormons are clearly not) and never be seen as a lone wolf.

Whether Mormons are Christian or not is a moot point. They would say they are. What I do know is that I have met some very good Mormons and some very bad Anglicans. My point ... that there are good and bad in every religion ... Christian, Jews, Hindu, Islam, whatever, and I refuse to visit upon the many the sins of the few.

Quite so Vet.

I could tell you some stories (but I won't) about some real ratbags who are/were Presbyterians.

Interesting you mention Peter Ellis Adolf. I was involved with court system and staff in Christchurch a year after the Ellis case. And one thing become abundantly clear everybody except the jury thought that he was innocent.

The court staff including the guards, who have heard many cases all thought the evidence against him was dodgy including a woman, an expert on child abuse, whom it was later revealed used to measure little girls vagina's for signs of sexual activity at Chomondley home.

The proof? He walked freely amongst gang members at Rolleston prison without being attacked and in fact had the sympathy of the inmates. The whole fiasco says more about the Dudley Dorights and conservative people of ChCh than Peter Ellis.
