Moronic

Labour MP David Shearer has described candidate Trump's comments about Muslim immigration to the US as 'moronic.'

Methinks the only thing moronic here is David Shearer.

The rabid anti=Trump media deliberately left out the qualifier from his speech.  He wants to stop the entry of Muslim immigrants 'until the authorities can properly vet them.'   Currently American authorities have revealed they are incapable of properly vetting such immigrants.  (Another scandal from the Obama administration.)

So how moronic is it for a has-been politician from a South Pacific back water to describe the man who may well be the next US President as 'moronic'?

And no, Vet.  I don't think Hillary would beat him.  Not even with the help of the New York Times.

"may well be the net(x?) US President"

There's two contenders and he isn't one of them.

Adolf ... I posed the question earlier ... just how does anyone know if an immigrant is a Muslim? Not all Muslims choose to wear a beard or don the burka while those from the Balkans look very much like all other mid-europeans ... and what about 'westerners' who convert eg SBW or Tim Groser? Passports don't denote a persons religion and, if I were a Muslim terrorist looking to enter the US, I certainly wouldn't go about parading my religion.

The other difficultly I have is that the Presidential oath of office requires him/her to .... 'and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States'.

Given that the First Amendment to the Constitution states specifically'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances' the question arises as to how Trump could do that without breaking his oath of office?

I repeat .. Trump is a Clunk.

I guess you could start by recognising that Islam is a malevolent political movement rather than a religion. And, by the way, has anyone asked Mr Groser what it is that attracts him to a so-called region which encourages the murder of homosexuals, the slaughter of civilians, the mutilation of young girls, the subjugation of women and the overthrow of every democratic government in the world?

Ghost Of Greenwood said...

Oh I can answer that one. Groser wanted an Indonesian Muslim as his second wife so in order for that to happen he had to convert to Islam (or at least say he has to the satisfaction of her family) They have since separated I am told.

Besides, remember he got slapped by Key for is excessive in-flight boozing on the way home from a trade delegation in Dubai in 2009? His Ministerial credit card at the Copenhagen climate change summit over the course of one week revealed mini-bar expenses that included 5 bottles of Famous Grouse and one bottle of Remy Martin. That's some boozing for a genuine, devout Muslim.

A number of Iranians entered Australia claiming they had crossed over to another religion and were been persecuted in Iran. Yeah you guessed it a number are practicing members at their local mosque.

Vet, all thats needed is for the security of the US to be at some agreed risk to trump (ha) the issue and put in place a ban. What Trump is proposing (assuming he meant it) is less draconian than FDR did to both Japanese and Americans in WW2. Whats more the Supreme Court backed the action.

There's already several legal opinions out on this agreeing that its still possible.

Again I'd point out that Trump is in the lead because he's playing the game better than anybody else and he nearly always has some elements of truth in what he says.. enough to get by.

"Given that the First Amendment to the Constitution states specifically . . ."

The Congress can exclude or admit any FOREIGNER it wants, for any reason or no reason. Non-Americans have no constitutional right to travel to the United States and no constitutional due-process rights to challenge exclusion; as the Supreme Court has written multiple times, “Whatever the procedure authorized by Congress is, it is due process as far as an alien denied entry is concerned.”

What’s more, the president does possess the statutory authority to keep anyone out, for any reason he thinks best.

These posts just get sillier and so far removed from the real world that I think I'm living in a parallel universe.

It's not about religion, it's about money. It's always about money trade and land.

The first thing Dubya did on 9/11 was fly out the top Saudis BEFORE he announced the no fly ban. The Gulf states have trillions of holdings in the US their sovereign wealth funds own airports, container lines half of Palm Beach real estate, container ports etc, etc. Sorry you can't attend the board meeting of IBM Mr Yamani 'cos you are a Muslim...get real. If Trump managed to make his millions without using Saudi money then he is brighter than I thought.

Trump is blowing smoke up your arse with outrageous statements he has no intention of fulfilling and catering to the lowest common denominator by appealing to the traditional American republicans lack of world awareness.

Judging by the posts here, with exception of the veterans, it's working. Half baked opinions grounded in fear.

Legbut, you are talking shit again.

Trump was referring to immigrants, not visitoes.

Long time, no write. Anyhoo Adolf, I think you are inventing your own truths here regarding the content of the Donalds masterful bit of policy. To wit:

"Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Trump’s proposed ban would apply to “everybody”, including Muslims seeking immigration visas as well as tourists seeking to enter the country. Another Trump staffer confirmed that the ban would also apply to American Muslims who were currently overseas – presumably including members of the military and diplomatic service. “This does not apply to people living in the country,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News, “but we have to be vigilant.”

Like I said he he wont make the playoffs for the chosen one. I believe he knows it hence his "what the heck" extravagent policy claims.

"The first thing Dubya did on 9/11 was fly out the top Saudis BEFORE he announced the no fly ban."

That nonsense was debunked by the 9/11 Commission early in the piece.

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/flights.asp

And as for "hating" Muslims I've already made it clear I'm commenting on Trump's quite brilliant work in using the polls, people's long held opinions and suspicions to smash down the walls of PC around the "Religion of Peace" and any number of other sacred cows.

Trump is simply the reverse side of the Obama coin.. he who stood between the Styrofoam Greek temple columns and declared that "this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal"..
Trump has been mercilessly lampooning "The Lightworker" all campaign with the same sort of bullshit that people fell for 7 years ago.. he's holding up a mirror and shining the BS back at them and they hate him for it.

Don't blame Trump.. he's just a consequence of a frivolous and irresponsible decision made on election night in 2008.

Many words of little substance. Your previous posts indicate that you hate the Muslim religion and by implication anyone who belongs to it. It's gratifying to know that I misjudged you and that you now accept that people are people, good bad and ugly irrespective of religion.

Well done and welcome back to the world JC.

Well, at least you got that part right. Any religion which believes the only true adherents are ISIS, Al Qaeda and the like and all "moderate" Muslims are apostates and can be killed with Allah's blessing is more than moderately insane.. and kill moderates they do, over 30,000 in 2014 alone.

Just to get back to thread It seems that Trump the Chump has made Mr Shearer look quite
statesmen like.

Just following in the footsteps of Mr shearer is the Israeli PM, Mayor of London, a Scottish University, President Hollande, Chancellor Merkell, President Obama and a host of other lefty, liberal pinkos who between them don't have a single assault rifle in their cupboards, bastards the lot of them.

Meanwhile the US House by a vote of 407/19 at Obama's recommendation, has implimented stage one of Trump's command to nobble Muslims. All 38 viza free countries are effected in that no foreign visitor is allowed into the US if they have been in one of several nominated countries like Iraq, Syria or the Sudan within the last five years.

Its expected the Senate will ratify this and it will be law within several weeks.

The fiance viza programme is also being reviewed.

JC...why do I get the feeling that you are winding me up. This law effects all foreign nationals including yourself. Religion does not come into it. The visa waiver system goes with the electronic vetting system that you as a NZ citizen must complete anyway.

A foreign visitor is allowed into the US after the vetting process which will cover all diplomatic staff from all countries doctors, nurses, NZ, UK and Aust. servicemen and ex servicemen.

If you are an Iraqi or Syrian passport holder nothing will change specially for the wealthy Saudis who move freely.

It will be impossible to administer fairly or indeed in a timely manner. The only light on the horizon is that nobody will want to see Disneyland if hamster chops becomes boss.

There we go chaps. The answer to the great Muslim Jihad.

Now these are the good Muslims and represent several million followers of Islam. Do try and discriminate between the white hats and the black hats in your posts.

For the uninformed a fatwa is a bit like excommunication in the RC church and being caught noshing the veggies at Harvest Festival in the Anglican.

I see your Indian fatwa with my Auckland Imam fatwa and raise you two fatwas from my two Birmingham Imams.. and I bet I can buy more fatwas saying what I want than you can!

You just put your finger on one of the reasons why Islam is stuffed.. there is no central authority in Sunni Islam. The best you get is the ancient university of Al Azhar which adheres strictly to traditional (normal) Islam which is kill the Infidel and take over the Earth.. and you won't do much better with revered Shia Imams either.
