TELLING IT HOW IT IS

'The Standard' is widely viewed as the Labour Party attack blog following the demise of the Trevor Mallard orchestrated 'Red Alert'.   So, when a Labour MP dumps on it you sit up and take notice ... not just any old hack MP either, Stuart Nash, the only person to win a seat off National last time round and with a Labour pedigree stretching back to 1929.

So, what did he say? ... some excerpts   "Our supporters have the same impact when they squabble, bitch and back-stab on so-called ‘left-friendly’ sites like  (a dreadful 21st century bastardisation of a once proud Labour broadsheet)" and more "This site doesn’t represent the moderate left voter – or the aspirational Kiwi who is looking for an alternative to the current government; but rather the embittered left dreaming of a socialist utopia that has never existed anywhere in time or place" and more still "I suspect that after tonight I won’t read this site for another 12 months. After all, why would I – it offers nothing I can’t get looking into a long drop in a DoC campsite."

Love the last bit.    The Standard has of course championed the election of Jeremy Corbyn as the best thing to happen to Labour since Keir Hardie.    One suspects Nash ain't on their Christmas Card list (that's if they 'do' Christmas cards).
