KELVIN DAVIS BLASTS USELESS PRISON GUARDS AT PAREMOREMO

The headline that wasn't ... why, because 'Pare' is staffed by members of the NZ Corrections Association (read Union).    So when yesterday an inmate was knifed and sustained serious injuries Davis is 'stum'.  How can that be?

Davis is quite happy to shill for those 'New Zealanders' about to be deported back to NZL even though they have turned their (collective) backs on this country (at least Howie and I can agree on something).   He turns ballistic when anything goes wrong in prisons staffed by SERCO so how is it that a deathly silence ensues when his Union mates fail in their duty of care.

Far be it for me to suggest that he has sold his soul to Bevin Hamlin but it would be interesting to see, come election time, where he gets his funding from.     Davis is of course perfectly entitled to pimp for his Union mates but, in doing so, he leaves himself wide open to being accused of a certain selective morality.

Guess for some it goes with the territory.

Given that the left has been beating its collective head against the public perception of the political parties with almost no affect for seven years something more had to give.

Davis has had a good look round and sees if he strikes out in some new and irrelevant directions he could more quickly proceed up the Mingimingi shrub.

Of course he risks a backlash on the half million NZers in Australia for his incitements to the Santa's Is deportees but one gets the impression there aren't many votes to be lost there anyway. The attacks on Serco are I think more easily understood.. he wants to build a following among the many Maori prisoners, their families and communities but without upsetting Labour's union mates in the prison.. ergo attack the private prisons and get much the same following with prison union support.. win win.

It *can* work and build a bigger base but as many a business owner will tell you chasing new work often comes at the expense of an alienated or ignored base.

I was puzzled by your posts using the same emotive language that I thought we had sorted out. Either you are politicking or you have an innate inability to recognise letters formed into words in the English language.

I asked a question which you didn't answer so against my better judgement I will ask it again. How can a child between the age of one and twelve taken to Australia by his parents "Turn his/her back on NZ" when he/she knows nothing of the country and has no support network?

IN MAKING THIS STATEMENT I LORD EGBUT NOBACON , DECLARE THAT I HAVE NO POLITICAL INTEREST IN THIS POST.

Gueez Lord Rupert ... eyesight going? I repeat what I wrote "Davis is happy to shill for those 'New Zealanders' about to be deported back to NZL although they have turned their collective backs on this country" ... got it, good. There are NO children aged between 1-12 being held in detention centres pending deportation ... end.

Nothing about the substance of this post though.

If you walk the cat backwards you will see that he has bagged every successful candidate of Te Tai Tokerau. Unfortunately there has never been a successful National candidate so we cannot prove definitely that it's politicking but one can suspect it.

Anon 2.05 ... never bagged Tau Henare. Most of NZL bagged Hone. Kelvin D burst upon the scene with some creds which he has managed successfully to shred.

FFS Noddy ... this is a political blog (note small 'p'). Our contributors come from across the political spectrum encompassing both the right and the left.

Whats your point?

I'm talking about the deportees and well you know it. A large percentage arrived in Australia as children.
The fact that we repeating this truth just hammers home the fact that you actually have no recall of what has gone before and you regard quantity of output over quality.

DO YOU WANT ME TO ASK THE QUESTION AGAIN OR WILL YOU ANSWER IT?
