But How Dead?

This Image "has gone viral" and that is supposed to mean more than the images elsewhere of four Orange jumpsuit clad men suspended in a reverse crab pose from a temporary scaffold  by chains watching a river of fire approaching across the ground to engulf them in a macabre staged and photographed murder by IS cowardly thugs, that afaik have never been published in the MSM.

That Child may be dead BUT

Had resuscitation been attempted?
Had the body been declared dead after a sustained attempt to revive him and then reposed on the waters edge for the photoshoot because someone saw the powerful image it could represent?

Death from drowning is a very recoverable state for those rescued from cold water in fact there are some remarkable tales, although not so for the very young.

So many of the misnamed Refugees and asylum seekers at present being thwarted in Hungary have arrived from Turkey, a predominantly  Islamist Nation on the border of the areas of Iraq and Syria where they are said to have escaped the Warzone, and once a border is crossed from the alleged danger that is where they become Refugees and the UNHCR becomes their source of care and protection. Well dressed, fed and in possession of cellphones and thousands of dollars in cash they are indeed a rare creature when compared to the poor bastards in camps in Somalia and similar.

Next bit of the conundrum that is absorbing all those who we are to believe care so much?

Where the hell are Dubai, Riyadh, Islamabad, Tehran, Kuala Lampur, Djakarta, while their Muslim Brothers and their seriously disadvantaged families are being swept up in this mass migration?
Why is it that the infidels are suddenly so freakin attractive to them?

Free western democracies are being screwed and the luvvies are buying every bit of bloody assistance  for the so called victims  using every manipulative trick in the book c2015.

Any one with a smidgeon of knowledge in emergency response would not have left that poor little bugger there but would have taken some pretty decisive actions that would have made recreation of the scene quite difficult.
Bollocks, however sad the totally avoidable and clearly wasted image the "viral" picture portrays.

If he was a Christian kid the rag heads would have thrown him overboard and no one would have noted it as anything warranting fake outrage.

Let them go back to an Islamic country. We do not want or need them in the West. They do not assimilate nor make any attempt to do so. I am reminded of the Trojan Horse when I see the pictures. They seem to be all young men of Coscrption age with a few children and women thrown in in order to gain sympathy from the gullible. My reply is you people are of the Islam religion, according to the Koran you will not accept any other form of worship so go back to an Islamic country you have no place in the West. Let your fellow Islamiasts look after you, bye Bye, end of story.

Harsh, and they say the 'left' are racists.

This is some seriously ugly shit. To address some of the more glaring errors:

1. If this was a kid who'd been playing at the beach and found in the water, sure, attempt resuscitation. One who's been washed up on the beach following a shipwreck many hours ago and miles away - really not much point.

2. Turkey's a secular country currently run by someone who'd like to make it "predominantly Islamist" but so far hasn't had much success, particularly with the police and armed forces.

3. The reason western media don't show ISIS videos of torture and murder is that it would constitute disseminating their propaganda. ISIS would like this stuff disseminated as widely as possible, and we needn't help them with it. The media show far too much ISIS crap already, without dishing up more of it.

4. It's a bloody good job NZ wasn't being run by people like you when we took in Polish and Jewish refugees 70 years ago, or we would have told them to get fucked and look to their fellow eastern Europeans for help.

Never seen so many assumptions in one package before, nearly all of them wrong. Perhaps the Dodger might like to tell us about how the brave and democratic Kiwi soldiers who kicked bludgeoned and bayoneted to death over a 100 unarmed Arab men in a Bedouin. village in 1916/17.

Milt has this one right.

The kid was probably ISIS looking to invade Europe, just like the rest of them, right JC? You guys are normally just funny, slavering old dickwads. This time though, the sickness infesting your tiny minds is clear for all to see.

All dead deserve dignity. Shame on the photographer and also for this post.

Apparently Dad wanted some new teeth, which is why they left Turkey, where they had a home & dad had a job.
It's nothing to do with fleeing a war torn country, it's a about parents making poor decisions.

The key thing about refugees in the past was that they were a close enough cultural fit to make the shift. The Muslim experience in Europe is they will fit until they get enough mass to flex their muscles then you will fit. Islam is an ideology that does not tolerate competition at any level - its like communism in that its a complete package for being miserable.

Anon 3.06 ... please tell the whole story. Yes there was an 'incident' at Surafend involving both NZ and Aust troops occasioned by the murder of NZ Trooper Lowry by a man from that village. Following the murder passions were running high and troops surrounded the village refusing to let people in or out.

The NZ GOC, General Chaytor, requested assistance from the British High Command and particularly that the Military Police take charge of the investigation. This request was denied and Chaytor was ordered to have the cordon broken up by force if necessary. That night the troops decided to take matters into their own hands.

No-one can condone what happened then .... the generally accepted estimate of those killed range from 20 to 40 but no-one can be sure of the actual number as there was no official body count. There was a purported figure of 137 attributed to an Aust soldier, Trooper Mulhull, but his official account preserved in the Australian Archives makes no mention of this. Rather it states "The following morning at 7am I was at the Bedouin village which was then a mass of ruins: every hut had been fired. I counted the dead and made a general observation of the whole affair. I was astounded at seeing so many with their heads battered." There is no mention of a figure 137 or any other figure relating to a body count in the whole document.

Yes it happened at another time and under different norms. One final point to emphasize. It was not solely a NZ affair. The NZ Government ended up paying STG858-11-5 in 'restitution; the Aust Government STG515-2-9 and the British STG686.

A sorry tale but, as ever, there are two sides to every story.

I don't see a mitigating factor in the wholesale murder of unarmed civilians or another "side" to the story. It also happened after the war had finished so the excuse of stress or fog of war is not valid. It was murder and no one was held to account.

Just as no one has been held to account for torture or redaction to hellhole prisons in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and Guantanamo. When we do it we say it is "national security" when others emulate us they are thugs without compassion.

...there are two sides to every story.

Sure. The members of Das Reich who massacred villagers at Oradour-sur-Glane had a story about one of theirs getting killed by someone in the vicinity, too. There being two sides didn't prevent rigorous prosecution for war crimes, of course - that's the difference between winning and losing.

"There being two sides didn't prevent rigorous prosecution for war crimes"

There is however the question of relevance.. at its most ridiculous one cannot apportion blame for 10 million Muslim killings by their fellows because nearly 100 years ago some Kiwis killed 100 Muslims, or we cannot adversely comment because of the Crusades 1000 years ago or that Christianity has no claim on the ME even when it was there 100s of years before Islam whilst Islam can legitimately claim Spain because it once overthrew Christianity for a time.

In this current crisis somehow the reasons for the refugees are the fault of the cruel West and not the local players in the ME.. such is the infantile nature of the media and its enablers who believe in cultural relativity.

The strawman you have constructed is as retarded as you are. While no one suggests the current crisis is entirely the fault of the West, you and your fellow right wing tardos are the only ones suggesting is has nothing to do with it. Normal people are capable of looking at the world with some sense of balance and objectivity.

JC. The NZ Mounted infantry did not kill 100 Muslims, they murdered 100 human beings. Buts OK because they were just thieving Wogs, not real people.

So, when the NZ government was considering taking Jewish and Polish refugees during WW2, your position would have been that we weren't to blame for them being refugees, that the local players in eastern Europe should have taken them, that the people wanting to allow them entry were "enablers" and the media publishing stories of their plight "infantile?" Or does that just apply when the refugees are darkies?

The Veteran said...

Heh guys ... read what I said. I didn't condone the massacre but tried to give context to it ... noting that it happened at another time and under different norms ... the same norms that saw members of 1NZEF shot at dawn for supposed cowardice.

One condemns the sacking of Surafend ... it was wrong. Just as wrong as the Boyd massacre of 1809 which saw some 70 Europeans from the sailing ship Boyd killed and eaten by Whangaroa Maori occasioned by the whipping of the Chiefs son for supposed theft ... spot the diff? I can't.

JC said...

"So, when the NZ government was considering taking Jewish and Polish refugees during WW2, your position would have been that we weren't to blame for them being refugees,"

Correct.

"that the local players in eastern Europe should have taken them,"

Correct

"that the people wanting to allow them entry were "enablers"

Correct.

"and the media publishing stories of their plight "infantile?"

Wrong. The guts of the story about the Holocaust is that the media, the Govts of the time and the Christians of the world did their absolute best to ignore the horror that was to descend on the Jews, Gypsies and opposition to Hitler's Mein Kempf and his plans for annihilation and genocide. You, better than most know that the Holocaust represented one of the greatest moral failings the educated modern world has ever experienced and one which is ongoing.

"Or does that just apply when the refugees are darkies?"

You, better than most, know Hitlers victims were mostly Europeans.

Good, now we are getting somewhere. As the Vet says we were operating under different norms and we are changed people through education and economic progress. The people of the middle east operate under different norms and to expect them to conform to our standards is a conceit.

It still does not mitigate the massacrer by disciplined troops or the lack of accountability. Even Henry V strung up a group of archers who had been looting from villagers just before Azincourt.

You, however, JC, appear to not accept that we should do everything we can to prevent a repeat. In fact you appear to be hell bent on playing the part of a retarded Diana Mitford.

Lord EN ... of course you are right ... it does not mitigate the Surafend massacre. Neither does it mitigate the massacre by members of 28 (Maori) Battalion of staff and patients of a German Filed Hospital in the North African campaign in 1942. War is shitty, war is dehumanising, bad things happen.

A comment on your statement ".... The people of the middle east operate under different norms and to expect them to conform to our standards is a conceit."

They may well do but, if they are going to come to my/our country, then I expect them to accept, respect and observe our norms as they stand today.
