That's Getting A Bit Close

It is 44 degrees in the shade and Adolf went outside to check his lawns at 1615.

On the other side of town there is a very big column of smoke rising to around 50,00 feet.  It looks like a thunderhead and and I understand there are some one hundred or more men fighting the blaze.

Humbug Scrub is about 15km from here, on the other side of town.

Thank God there is no wind.

My thoughts are with you and The Cook Adolf, serious stuff.
A mate died recently in a controlled burnoff and it appears smoke inhalation was the Cause of Death, Sadly he had opted to assist a mate with the burn rather than a scheduled visit to his brother with Terminal cancer, now both are dead, so very sad.

Sunrise delayed by an hour today, due to massive high level smoke cloud east of us.

T least five homes burned out so far.

Strong winds today are pushing the fire towards Adelaide suburbs.

Now known that seven homes are burned out. Thankfully, no lives have been lost.

In a sad and ironical twist, two of the homes destroyed were those of firefighters and one that of a police officer assisting fire fighters.

I wonder how long it has been seen this area has been 'control burnt' to reduce fuel?

Yes, the fire's not out yet, but let's try and score some cheap political points while it burns shall we?

Howard you can fuck off back to troll land.

There is no politics involved. For the information of ignorant troll pricks like you, in WA state owned reserves are control burned roughly every ten years. In NSW the figure is something like 80 years. My contacts here in the fire service advise that there is little control burning carried out in SA.
