Seriously?

One can only pity any officers of the Royal Navy who've had to tell their crews that they'll be conducting naval exercises involving the USS Ponce, recently in the news for its prototype laser weapon.  No doubt the briefing ends up resembling Pontius Pilate telling his guards about his friend Biggus Dickus.

All the targets used were combustible set pieces. Appears to be a long way from a useful weapon. An exercise for the politicians benefit for further funding perhaps.

When I first saw the name I took it as a misprint!
