Once Upon A Time.........

The NZBC could be relied upon to be the ultimate exemplar of good English and correct grammar.  There even was a manual for the guidance of the potential illiterates who these days are employed without question, or so it seems.

The worst exemplar of atrocious grammar and poor syntax in the radio media is Rachael Smalley on Newstalk. Her repeated "you knows" and "sort ofs" are of a standard most of us left behind in the fourth form. Her interviewing ability is more or less non-existent and such as it is, it displays an inability to conceptualise akin to a very young child.
