RUSSELL TULLY - SIMPLE QUESTION

We are told by the media that a supposed aggravating factor in the decision of Michael Tully to 'murder' a couple of WINZ staffers and seriously injure a third was the failure by WINZ/Housing NZL  to provide him with accommodation.

Well sorry Tully.   Nothing but nothing can justify what you did and I for one do not accept it is your god given right to expect the taxpayer to provide you with subsidised accommodation (acknowledging that, to the best of my knowledge, HNZ doesn't possess too much, if any, in the way of one bed-roomed stock) especially given there is private sector accommodation available should you have chosen to get off your sorry arse and look for it.

A quick search of the web and reveals a one bedroom house in the Ashburton area available at $170 per week. Tully is reported as being on the Invalids Benefit @ $289.58 gross/week.    In addition he would have been entitled to other assistance including the Accommodation Supplement.     He was not left high and dry.   He had options.

Sadly we are seeing the usual bunch of rag tag bunch of do-gooders parading the canard that the State/we have failed him.  To that I say bullshit in spades.    Tully is a murderer pure and simple and is now looking to justify the unjustifiable.    He gets no sympathy from me..

Sorry to say he is just one of an army of feckless arseholes, and who is too hopeless even to get out of his own way.
I would suggest he a member of the usual jealous left-leaning useless farm animals who regularly turn up to winz offices and who have a problem for every solution.

It is a great pity he did not threaten a police officer before he was arrested. Then he might have been dealt woth according to rule 762.

You for one don't accept it's a right to expect a State subsidy for housing.......except when National offers in its housing policy State subsidies for housing.

Anon 9.42 .... you are (deliberately) misconstruing what I said. You know I was referring to Tully's demand for a particular (I understand two bedroomed) HNZ house.

The Accommodation Supplement was available to him to help offset the cost of private rental accn.

Nothing particularly wrong in that.

The news said he was refused the accommodation supplement
