Jock Paget not guilty but well out of pocket.

Winner of Burghley threeday event and contender for the US$350 00 bonus for winning the three majors in succession, had his title stripped and suspended from competition after his mount Clifton Promise returned positive for a banned substance.

Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley are all very challenging events and the triple has only been won once by Pom, Pippa Funnell.

The great news overnight has come from the FEI Tribunal who have accepted Paget's case and overturned his suspension.
His Burghley win will not be reinstated so it remains a very expensive matter for Jock Paget.

Apparently the Tribunal accepted the positive blood test originated from a contaminated food supplement that arose after ongoing use with multiple clear random tests then suddenly delivered a positive after Paget's Burghley victory.

My only remaining concern around the whole disaster is, will Andrew "Spinning Rhombus" Nicholson now withdraw and apologise for his illconsidered outburst when J P's troubles were splashed across the media, putting the boot in and telling him he was guilty.

I would like to think so, but the Titanic might arrive in New York harbour first.
