Blue Skies

Just back from eleven days in Cairns.  Not a drop of rain with daily temps between 24 and 28.

I'm not going to do a Farrar but suffice it to say, if you go there, you must take the gondola ride over the rain forest, past the Barron river dam, to Kuranda and the return trip down a stunning rail track through heavy jungle with near 1000 foot drops to the rocky gorge floor.

Oh yeah, and not forgetting the other highlight.  Wonderful fresh fish from spotlessly clean Ocean World Seafood Market in North Cairns.  Gorgeous stuff we never see in NZ.  I couldn't bring myself to spend $60/kg for coral trout but $24/kg got plenty of great tucker.  And freeeeesh prawns.
