Nine Years of Noise With No Performance

Yessir, that's what Kelvin Davis needs to be hammering home to the electors of Te Tai Tokerau.

Every speech should begin with "What has Hone Harawira done in nine long years to make your life better?"  In Hone's language, the answer is simple.  Sweet fuck all.

They've had a Volkswagen MP in there for nine long years and what have they got to show for it?
Hot air and noise with no performance.

Now is their chance to get a V8 in there for a change.  More jobs, better education, more local development, less violence against women and children.

Vote Kelvin for Te Tai Tokerau.

The more I know about Maori politics the less I know.

Hone has a core constituency of believers mired in the grievance mode which Hone massages with rhetoric designed to convince them that he has the ability to deliver the goods like some modern day John Frum.

If the Maori Party had any strategic sense (and an understanding that their very survival depends on it) they would stand aside from contesting TTT and give Davis a clear run at the seat.

But no, their so called 'kaupapa' has them standing an unknown Reverend (cousin of Sharples) who will split the vote and allow Hone to come through the middle.

Davis is a good bloke. Too good for Labour and he will find that out to his sorrow when they release their list. Good blokes don't cut the mustard with Labour's List Ranking Cttee.

Just ask Damien O'Connor or Kelvin last time round.
