If That Happens There Wont Be Many Spuds Left.

Fran O'Sullivan in an Op piece on the current NZLP, alludes to a quote from
" Beer baron Sir Douglas Myers – with whom Jones is well acquainted – used to talk about how corporate life is a bit like a “sack of spuds”. New owners would shake the sack and bring up hidden talent."

Reminded me of a monthly task each year of my childhood when the several sacks of stored potatoes were tipped out on a floor, any shoots removed, and any showing signs of decay or rot discarded to prevent further loss from contact.
Today it is done with chemicals to ward off decay and another to retard sprouting that robs the spud of starch

If anyone shook the current NZLP up and discarded the suspect ones they would have to head off to the market to get replacements.
Hey that might be the best way forward.

there would be nothing whatsoever left.
ditto the greens.

The simple truth is that there is no place for Labour / Green/ MANA parties, unions, or any other kind of leftist, unionist, socialist, or communist in NZ.

"Free speech" is speech that promotes freedom.
"Free politics" are politics that promote freedom.

leftist are neither. they have no protection under NZ' laws - and frankly a real reforming NZ government would pay a bounty for shooting them down in the street.

Remember that if NZ were a democracy - if an FPP election was held today - National would win easily win at least 57/71 seats - more than enough to change the constitution.

It's time National acted in the common sense national interest:
- eliminate MMP
- eliminate votes for bludgers, civil servants, state & local govt employees, WFFers, student loaners, housing corp'ers, mortgagees, etc
- divest itself of all government liabilities: remainder of all SOEs; railways (sold for scrap); roads; schools; hospitals; TV; RadioNZ (presented all proscribed);
- bring back cheap and efficient capital penalties
- and above all proscribe all leftist parties, unions, etc, so we never have to deal with them in NZ ever again.

Angry Tory .... so, your solution is to proscribe "all leftist parties, unions etc"

You mean just like in Nazi Germany or the old Soviet Union or North Korea or wherever.

Haven't met too many Tories who see Hitler, Stalin and Kim Jong 11 as role models.

But then you probably get your rocks off pulling wings off flies.

In Germany, today, Naziism is illegal.
In the UK, today, the IRA is illegal.

The greens and the unions have done far more damage to NZ (say since 1950) than the Nazis have done to Germany or the IRA to the UK.

In many American states, today, unionism is illegal and again in many American states, true republican Americans can "stand their ground" should any Nazis, terrorists, unionists, or federal government employees come calling.

So I guess Wisconsin and Florida and Germany and the UK are just like North Korea.

The New Zealand Armed Constabulary dealt with strikers and leftists and terrorists in 1913, 1932, 1941, 1951, 1975, 1981, 1984, 1994, 2007.

In short: we don't need another "Kiwi Key" who wants to be "Kiwi Keith"

We need another William Massey, another Sid Holland, another Ruth Richardson.

You're funny sinner! Don't you think your "rabid right-winger" bit is getting a bit obvious now though? You used to be slightly more subtle. Still fooling Vet though!

AT (or Sinner) as EtC would have it ... really matters not a jot.

Please authenticate your statement that "The NZ Armed Constabulary" went to town in 1941, 1951, 1975, 1981, 1984. 1994 and 2007.

Don't bullshit me that because the NZ Police have access to firearms they can be described as 'Armed Constabulary'.

And the military who were sent in to work the wharfs in 1951 weren't armed either.

But perhaps my degree majoring in NZ and US political history is wanting.
