THAT REALLY IS TRAGIC.

No not Mandela's passing that happened some months ago but medicine arbitrarily interfered in the process.

This was something that is a serious connundrum for conservationists all over the world.

The environmental lobby, yes that includes the nutty greens, have in their crusade against oil, coal, natural gas and extended it to prevent Hydro on rivers as yet untapped, have totally embraced wind power as a renewable source of energy.
It only exists in one place in the world without subsidies from taxpayers, here in lil ole NZ, but and there will always be a bloody but,  there is a subsidy from consumers of electricity in that we transfer costs from cheap hydro to put up windfarms.

One serious drawback with giant turbines generating energy is they are a serious threat to birdlife.
Numerous instances are emerging of Raptors, already under threat being found dead under wind towers after obviously colliding with the blades.

Recently in the Hebridies, a bird not seen for some 22 years in the UK, only 9 sightings in over a hundred years, turned up obviously lost and many "bird watchers" rushed to get a glimpse.

Then along came Jones, I mean kama, the bitch, only for the assembled in awe,  to watch the stupid bird fly into a turbine blade and die.

Yes folks, the only White Throated Needletail seen in the UK in 22 years can be seen lying deceased under the generator of choice for the greenies.

Bald Eagles, Condors, Golden Eagles, Perigrine Falcons, Hawks flying along watching lunch loping along on the ground and WHUUMMP a freakin wind turbine blade saves the intended prey for tomorrow, to bad about the already endangered bloody bird.

My first though when I read about this was a little irreverent I must confess. When the inevitable inquiry (surely Russel will call for one) releases its findings, will any blame be attributed to the sandel wearing numpties who may well have caused the distraction that led to the rare bird altering course with the accompanying fatal consequences?

Of course we must have Windfarms as Jeanette Fitzsimons, the Queen of the Green Taliban has a large shareholding the NZ Windfarms .

Has she got a shareholding in that company. She is not in the top 20 shareholders.
I know she is a largish (9th biggest) shareholder in Windflow Technologies which is a not very successful manufacturer of small turbines but not in Windfarms.
Wellington Mayor Wade-Brown and her husband are also in the top twenty of Windflow's shareholders.

Paulus is making shit up. He does that when he doesn't have an argument (ie all the time).

"there is a subsidy from consumers of electricity in that we transfer costs from cheap hydro to put up windfarms."

Really? Have you got a link to a reputable source for that? Not that I don't take your word for it, it's just that I don't take your word for it.

Really Eddie? Don't you even read through the article before spouting? Unless Gravedodger, who posted the original item. and Paulus, who commented on it but never said what you are complaining about, are the same person Paulus wsn't "making shit up". Never mind, time for some new glasses.

Awwww, reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it, Alwyn, my dear?

Paulus was talking shit, as always, about Fitzsimon's alleged share holdings. You should know this, you pointed it out.

GD is probably making shit up about subsidies, but I give him the benefit of the doubt until he fails to produce proof; a different issue, but symptomatic of right wing dishonesty.

I fear that it is you, Edward, whose reading comprehension is at fault. You are crediting me with having done things that I haven't.
You will, if you read my offering slowly and carefully, find that I never said that Jeanette Fitzsimons didn't own shares in Windfarms. I said that I didn't know that she did but that I did know she had a lot of shares in a related type of company. Windflow is a much smaller company than the Windfarms one so you could easily have a lot of shares but not be in the top 20.
Try and look at it carefully and you will see that I didn't point out in any way that I thought Paulus was wrong in what he said. He may be of course but I certainly never said or implied that he was.

Edward the Confessor said...

Yep, that's the implication, Alywn sweetie. It's pretty obvious Paulus is both confused and making shit up - it's his default setting. Thanks for pointing it out - a rare moment of honesty from the far right. I note he hasn't been back to dispute your implied allegation.

The Greens aren't interested in the glorious, soaring raptor family.

Their hearts bleed over giant snails, slugs, ugly things that slither and slime over the earth, avoiding sunlight.

Much like themselves actually.

Alwyn - you need to type more slowly to help ETC's comprehension.

Could you please explain what you mean by "kama"?

You're certainly not, Danvers, you sexy minx. You're just using them because you hate wind power for odd ideological reasons (it's commie or something). Meanwhile cats kill billions of birds a year, yet old man Danvers lets you keep yours.

Green numpties and their equally challenged idiots in conservation introduce widespread bans on set netting for fish that has been customary for generations to "save" dolphins with very little evidence such fishing threatens them.
Those same numpties think wind power is going to save the planet when realtime actual evidence asserts that those almost invisible blades do kill endangered birds.
Go figure.

Oh and btw confusor I consider the towers along the ridges at Ballance are quite asthetically acceptable and uplifting but then I just drive past them, I dont have to live within earshot.

Asking again. You said, "

Could you please explain what you mean by "kama"? Thank you

When the actual facts don't fit your narrative you just make up your own, don't you old guy? There are less polite descriptions for that activity, but in the interests of respect for the aged I will refrain from using them.

Thank you for clearing up the confusion about kama/karma. Kama in Indian mythology is the god of sex, as in The Kama Sutra. For a moment there I thought things were going to get rather spicy on No Minister
