Plausible excuses

Note to Jerry Collins:  when giving the cops a bullshit story, you have to consider how plausible it is.  For instance, if you're living in what is by a long way the safest country in the OECD and you're a foot taller than most of the locals, the police may doubt your claim to be carrying a big knife for "self defence."

What a shame this didn't happen to him here in NZ, he could have looked forward to permenant name suppression.

haha and definitely, never carry a weapon, not gun, not knife, maybe only mouth vulgar, even then the police will pick you up, you can say fuck off and the eighteen year old will say we will take you in and process you, he comes from the lower area

Absolutely, where else can a female walk through a park at 2am without fear.

Jerry must have been less than proper with someone of yakuza pesuasion's Mrs to warrant that fear of reprisal. Was she worth it I am thinking? Probably.

Sure he's guilty as sin and it's a dumb excuse. But it's hardly the crime of the century!

I find it unbelievable that he can be held in custody for 2 weeks so that Japanese police can "investigate" the offence when in NZ he would probably be dealt with within 2 hours.
