I have no armed service to my credit personally. My father and his two brothers volunteered in WW2, for one killed, one invalided home, and my father returning physically unscathed.I count amongst my friends an Armed Forces Padre from the Korean conflict, a J-force veteran, and an infantry man in Malaya. Each of these are people I respect greatly.I know no one personally who served in Vietnam, but have spoken with Americans who did, and watched a Maori veteran on Waka Huia last Sunday. The courage of all of these men cause me to reflect on whether I would have measured up had I been in their boots. I doubt it, but I believe I measure up better than those who continue to despise them and their selfless service. I am indebted to all those who have served, and those who continue to serve. The world is a better place as a result of their courage.
Bazza ... thank you.
