Good Campaign Progress

A significant factor unlikely to be understood by the trolls who infest this blog is the fact that under US electoral law, Mr Romney can’t spend any of the money he has raised for this campaign until he is confirmed as the Republican Party candidate.  Accordingly he is restricted to spending only that which is left over from his primaries campaign. This goes some way to explaining the light volume of Republican TV ads thus far.

Obama suffers no such restraints and is reported to have spent upwards of $200 million on negative anti-Romney TV ads in the battleground states.. The results have been appalling.  Mr Romney remains neck and neck with Obama in national tracking polls and has picked up the state of Missouri which has moved from toss up to leaning Romney.  For two hundred million dollars, Obama should have buried his opposition.  Instead, he didn’t even make a tiny dent.

Romney is out-raising Obama month after month while Obama’s former donors, big and small have headed for the hills, leaving the pitiful messiah to beg for people’s wedding gifts and a few pennies on his birthday.  Obama has shot his bolt financially.  Finally he has run out of other people’s money.  This is the chap who vainly boasted he would raise one billion dollars for his campaign.  He’s spending as though he has a billion dollars but I doubt he has or will get anywhere near even half that amount.  His campaign is openly telling donors they are about to run out of money.

Mr Romney, on the other hand, has a bulging war chest, with which to beat the Jack Ass over the head, starting on the day after the Republican convention.

At the same time, Obama’s one and only favorable metric, his ‘likeability’ has gone into decline.  That is no surprise when, as each day goes by, something new happens to demonstrate what a nasty gang of pricks this administration is.  Their latest revealing faux-pas has been the vilification of a fundamentalist Christian owned chicken franchise which has been subjected to extraordinary abuse by (black) officials from Chicago who all happen to be closely associated in the public mind with Obama.  A week or so earlier it was revealed that a Romney campaign donor, whose details somehow found their way into Obama’s enemies list,’ finds himself the subject of an IRS audit and a Department of Labour investigation.  What a coincidence!

Mr Romney’s overseas trip to Britain, Israel and Poland was a veritable tour de force.  Obama and his friends tried to beat up on Mr Romney for stating the obvious about the London Olympics.  He described the ‘no show’ at the last minute by the organisers’ major security contractor as ‘disconcerting.’  He was being charitable in his description but the pommy papparazi did their best to create a storm.  Within twenty four hours viewers around the world were treated to the even more disconcerting spectacle of vast areas of prime seating at premium events lying empty.  These were seats which had been ‘given’ to overseas VIPs by the organisers.  Now THAT is disconcerting with a capital D.

No Romney votes lost and none gained but there were never any to be gained from the UK in the first place.
Doubly disconcerting for Obama was the news that Mr Romney pulled in a million dollars from a London fund raiser.

Not so In Israel, where Mr Romney got off to a flying start by offending a few thin skinned Ayrabs from Gaza.  He told them the truth about their dead head culture of hate and animosity.  Israel was assured that Romney would walk back from the ambivalence and callous disregard for Israeli security demonstrated by Obama.  There must be a few hundred thousand US swing state Jewish votes gained by that visit.

Poland was a similar story.  Obama literally threw Poland under the bus when he sacrificed that country’s security on the alter of appeasing Putin.  Poles – and their hundreds of thousands of American relatives, were left in no doubt as to what line a Romney led government would take with Russia.  You can almost see the message dropping onto Putin’s desk – “If you so much as set foot on Polish territory, Moscow will be reduced to rubble.”   That’s a bit strong, I hear you say.  And so it should be when only a few weeks ago a senior Russian general was threatening to invade Poland.  That’s how seriously the world takes Obama.

Even more for Obama was the news that Mr Romney pulled in two million dollars from a Tel Aviv fund raiser.

So all in all, I think Mr Romney is poised for a good win on November the 6th.  His star is on the rise while the Jack Ass lost his star sometime about 2010.

Bring it on.

A brainless anonymous troll who has been removed, commented in part , thus:-

Wrong again. Mitt, or his proxies can spend as much money as they like through PACs (Political Action Committees).

Errrrrm no,they can't. The campaign is expressly forbidden from co-ordinating advertising or spending with the PACs.

Have you factored in the stupidity of the American people and the fact that the MSM simply will not allow Obama to be beaten?

I really believe that Romney is not going to be enough to drag those from the middle across to vote for him, somebody like Christie would have done that but Romney will see voters stay at home in droves.

I'm amazed at how biased NZ media have been TV3 running teh "gaffe" line over the last few days has been incredible.
Sad thing is most people won't appreciate how demonstrably biased they've been

And that is the make or break.

In other words, how good will be his campaign?

The way our sycophantic media follow slavishly the adoration of O'Bama and denigration of anything remotely connected to even the sane segment of the American conservative bloc is really humorous when viewed against the fact only about maybe a couple of hundred living here will vote.

Ho Ho Ho

The above mentioned 'chicken franchise' has just reported it's best day's sales evah!! With seven hours trading still to go in Western states. That's what happens when you get abused by Obama's gang of thugs.

Must be worth at least another hundred thousand swing state votes for Mr Romney.

Sorry to turf you out but I no longer accept 'anonymous' comments.

Good comment, so please come back with a pseudonym. Also, I'd be interested to hear why you think he did NOT throw them under a bus.
