What is it With Kate Wilkinson?

Is Kate Wilkinson; thick, inept, confused, witless or what.

Following on from a rather confusing injection of her powers over a marine reserve in Akaroa Harbour that on the evidence, as I understand it, has some vague grounds for her stance, is she now being shown to be a complete numpty in her handling of an Immigration fiasco.

The daughter and sibling of English citizens who have been granted residency faces deportation because she misused her visa.
Apparently she dropped out of a course at AU or similar place of learning and then worked for income.
So what.

Stupid yes but if she was any other non 'wasp', would Ms Wilkinson be acting so forthrightly.

The young lady at the center of this shomozzle is white, anglo saxon, educated, healthy, has good teeth and a very tidy body and has demonstrated a desire to work.

Her extended family appear to be here with residency already so what is the problem.

In the light of Zaoui, Bill lui or whatever his current name is,  who might find use of the wide powers of discretion available, inappropriate, so why is the minister allowing herself to be painted as such a numpty.
