'CHEEP' SHOT BY A CHEAP POLITICIAN

I see that Winston Peters just cannot contain himself.   His comment re holidays that "I'm not going to Hawaii, NZL is good enough for me" is a cheep shot by a cheap politician.   Clearly in his brave new world one is to be condemned for holidaying overseas.

Perhaps he is signalling that were he to ever again get his grubby paws on the levers of power one is going to need an exit visa from the 'Travel Police' in order to leave NZL.

This from a politician who on his visit to North Korea was happy to raise his glass in toast to Kim Jong-il as the 'Great Leader' ignoring the fact that he oversaw a repressive regime where dissent meant a trip to the Gulag or worse and most of the country lived on starvation rations while he indulged himself on expensive cognac and under-aged girls.

And this from a cheap politician who is not so cheap when it comes to paying back the $156k he rorted from the taxpayer.    Only when you pay the money back Mr Peters will I afford you a modicum of respect and little at that.

I wonder if the NZ Left will also be attacking Barack obama over his long holiday in Hawaii.

As for North korea, it spoke volumes about the opinions of the United Nations that it flew its flags at half mast to mark the death of North Korea's dead leader, but did not do so to mark the death of Czech democrat Vaclav Havel.
I wonder what Uncle Helen thought of the support her employer gives to despots while it ignores the true deliverers of democracy and freedom!

FM ... agreed but, re the UN, what do you expect from a very expensive talkfest where tin pot nations are allowed to punch above their weight?

Great idea and on the micro level 'some' UN programmes do make a difference but the reality is that for the 'Big Three' (China, US and the RF) they will, when the push comes to shove, act as they think fit to protect their vital interests giving only lip service to the UN Charter.

The reason Winston doesn't want to go to Hawaii is that he's far too fond of Rarotonga - just ask the locals who have seen him plenty of times over the years (including when in parliament).

I don't doubt you wonder all kinds of completely irrelevant things, FFM.

I wonder if WRP is similarly critical of Maryan Street, who tweeted around Christmas Day of her travel woes in the north of Italy.

Oh wait; that's right. She's not a rich prick is she.

The guy is an empty bucket, no ideas, no class and a complete and utter waste of space. Unfortunately because of the sheer stupidity and short memories of far too many voters we have to put up with the crap that he spouts and pay his and those who were dragged into parliament on his coat tails, salaries for the next 3 years. Nothing will be achieved by their presence and, unfortunately the Parliamentary debate will once again become a circus with the input of these monkeys.

Parliament has never ceased to be a circus, with or without Winston the folly continues....

I wonder what you guys are gonna do for diversion when Winston turns out to be the only effective opposition politician.

ps - you guys should really start thinking for yourselves instead of treating the ravings of vested-interest "journalists" as if they were Gospel.
