We are watching from London. The Beeb has bugger all on it while CNN is almost non stop - if now repetitive seing as it is dark.

Devastating pictures though.

Bless red tape as well. In the old days we would have being well along the path to fixing stuff from September and it would have been a waste of time.

The Historic Places Trust needs to review their stance on old stuff and become more pragmatic.

Key declines offer from Israel to provide rescue teams


"Netanyahu offered to send an expert team (rescue, engineering and medical) to NZ. PM Key rejected the offer saying that at this stage there was no need".

(This is the integrated team that was sent to Haiti and first to arrive and deploy some days before the Americans).
