Verbal diarrhea

It appears that oral history isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

In a world where the past is the past this wouldn't really matter.
But in a world where big money rides on what is apparently verbal diarrhea, it would be good to have the real truth acknowledged.

Make telling the truth about Maori history, including the substantial dark side, a new year resolution.

Then force them to listen to it over and over, teach it in schools.

Too right!

Hey, when you claim you caught a fish the size of the country, then you have to allow a little leeway on believing the year and century you caught it.

Dr Paul Moon.. well done for outing the facts.

Funny. You guys spend most of your time railing against so-called "experts" in their "universities" with their "knowledge" and "science", favouring truthiness instead, and yet here you are! Why is that I wonder?

Are you really that fucking stupid, sludge? From the drivel you post here you're either retarded or a green party member (then again, that's a tautology isn't it?) so I'll spell it out for you:
On the one hand, a member of the academic community is finally questioning whether the emperor actually has magical clothes or he's really naked. On the other (assuming you're referring to the scam of AGW) the majority of the scientific community, in collusion with the lame stream media and politicians, are ridiculing, defaming and destroying the careers of anyone who dares question the authenticity of the emperor's magical clothing.
Surely even you can see the difference in these scenarios? Or are you really that fucking stupid?

Its easy JH. Truth is an absolute but what passes for truth is often dictated by a reward for the people who benefit from their version of it being accepted as the truth. We won't always be seen to be right when truth and opinion finally meet but in respect of Maori I think "won't always be seen to be right" doesn't begin to describe the litany of lies that is presented as fact to support the grievence industry. As soon as you disagree the elite trougher's side kicks resort to haka, tongue poking, stick pointing and threat displays. I need to remind myself its 2010 rather than 1810. This is not progress.

Thanks anon for setting JH straight about truth.Truth backed up by real science is a powerful combination. Maybe one day it will even set the Maori free.

Truth backed by science? You mean it's powerful and "real" when the science can be construed as supporting your preconceived and subjective notions, but when it doesn't (climate change anyone?), it's just a bunch of commies sounding off in their ivy covered ivory towers and forcing you, the hard working worker, to pay for it. That's super convenient that is!

I said "truth backed by real Science", JH.
Not the appalling trough driven hocus pokus climate science that tries to pass itself off as science.
Real scientists don't manipulate results to prove a pre determined conclusion.

Ohhhh, real science! As opposed to the science which gives findings and conclusions you don't like! That's commie science. I see now. Thanks.

I am happy to accept scientific concluions as long as they have been reached by true scientific methods.

Having some little tosser "hide the decline" falls a long way short from that mark.

Any scientist that tries to tell me that "the science is settled" can take a walk as well.

Come on JH. Science is constantly evolving and many firm views from the past are being shown to be mistaken. This will go on for ever and what we think is true today may be shown to be wrong tomorrow. To blindly accept science opinion as fact rather than theory is just as stupid as accepting what some trougher says to support a hand out - an enquiring mind can judge the balance of probability as to what is more likely to be correct given the info available.

In this instance the Maori were here first so the actual ETA makes no difference to me. The Maori issue centres on far more recent political events.

Just as to blindly dismiss scientific studies (not real science to adopt Lou's terminology) whose conclusions you find annoying is stooopid.

Exactly JH. The trougher's brain is not thinking beyond the next handout so don't expect much impartial thinking from them.
