JAFFA CITY

It took Socialist Mayor Len Brown and his bunch of fellow travellers less than 50 days to renege on their 'hand on hearts - carved in stone' election promise to hold Auckland City rates to the cost of inflation or below.

And as part of their 'austerity' programme we see that Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse has been awarded a 50% salary increase from $80k to $120k per annum. And this for attending all the functions that Len Brown wouldn't be seen dead at.

Penny Hulse just wouldn't happen to be a fellow left winger ... would she?

Why is it that socialists and troughers are inexorably intertwined?

Why are you so surprised, haven't you read Animal Farm?

Why yes. National goooood, Labour baaaaaad!

How much did Banks ramp up debt levels by again?

Have you got a source for the quote from Len Brown you provide Vet?

JH ... you got the first bit right and the second is a matter of public record.

If LB is the answer then it must have been a stupid question.

And the source for your quote?

Len is tracking Barack brilliantly.

Gee, that's incisive JC. How long did it take you to come up with that?

BTW, did the tories on the council knock back their pay rises? Sure hope so.

What about the payment to iwis to turn up to the inauguration? $21,000 for 2 Auckland reps, $800 to fly reps from Great Barrier, $4,000 for other leaders to travel, Te Mana Whenua iwi fed at cost of $3,000 each, and each paid $315 to attend.

They had to give themselves pay increases because they are no longer allowed credit cards.

I thought "Judge Holden" had been banned from commenting on this site and others. Annoyed to see he's been reinstated and reappearing.

He's banned from Adolf's posts.

For six months but if he continues infesting other author's threads with his trolling it will be six years.

The definition of "trolling" on Adolf's planet is saying anything that Adolf doesn't like. Such as the truth.

I love you too Petey!

Would be good if you also gave Redbaiter a whack with the ban stick at the same time, his constant ugly attacks on the Veteran and these idiotic ravings about commies etc are getting old and add nothing more than what a spam bot would contribute.

JH is a jackarse, but at least he adds something more than just mere name calling.

RB goes off the deep end now and again but he has the ever-redeeming feature of being a rightinst as distinct from Sludge who is a dim wit suffering from the malignant disease of permanently ingrained socialism.

He was banned not for his delusions but for his repeated denigration of his blog host. If RB indulged the same way he too would be banned. But he does not because he has more brains and more manners.

Yes, Russell's always so very polite to Vet. And in any event, pointing out your errors is not really denigration. It's called taking you to school, Adolf. It's very obvious you never liked school, but you really should be thanking me.

Besides, you're very very rude to your guests.

I enjoyed and excelled in school where I dealt with fuckwits in exactly the same way as I deal with them on the blog. A bloody good whack around the arse down the back of the locker room..

Wow, that's a Rubicon crossed there. The Veteran finally acknowledging there are such things as Socialists. Amazing. Now, if only he would wake up to the fact that they're as rife in the National Party as anywhere.

Still... it dies beg the question. Would Banksie do the same if he won?

Mind you, I like Banksie, but I am still finding it rather hard to tell National and Labour apart....

Heine, most people carry their chips on their shoulders. Yours is in your eye.

Not too sure what got up your back Adolf. I'm calling it as I see it. From a distance it's far easier to see the policies and judge them for what they are. National and you yourself are spineless.

Keep on borrowing then. Spend away. Not my problem. Welcome to Greece.
