Run a fabricated hit piece on a successful conservative politician while concealing the ultra left wing proclivities of the writers.
In days of yore one could pick the by-line after the first paragraph. Sure enough, it was pretty much always the reliably left leaning 'The Independent.' Today is different. Today's ration of puffed up affronted indignation is aimed at non other than Governor Sarah Palin and is simply attributed to two innocent looking individuals, Joanna Walters and Leo Hickman.
The article itself is a poor attempt at discrediting Mrs Palin. The headline and lead in accuse her of breaking local rules by fishing too close to wild bears. Not until you read further do you find that she didn't actually break any rules at all. Someone forgot to tell the commie scribblers from the Guardian that the bears were not feeding.
Joe Meehan, of the wildlife conservation division of the department, said it appeared that the Palins' boat got within 9m of the bears but not while they were actually feeding.
The journo's just made it up.
She can be seen apparently holding her rod towards brown bears on the river bank, while the party's boat appears to be closer to the bears than guidelines advise. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game says people in a boat must not fish within 9m of a bear.
Well, that's not really what they say. Here are some extracts from the actual guidelines found on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game web site. Just guidelines, not rules or laws.
4: Bear Buffer
- Do not cast towards a bear
- Do not cast within 30 feet of a bear
- Cease all fishing when a bear approaches within 30 feet.........
14: Bear Fishing Zones
When bears are present and fishing within 10 meters of Wolverine Creek, all boats within a 10 meter zone must make a reasonable effort to move back a sufficient distance to allow bears to fish unimpeded......
What else would you expect from that marxist stalinist rag 'The Guardian'? But what's the Guardian got to do with it? A quick google search reveals what The Herald didn't want you to know. Walters and Hickman are journalists (or is that journ0lists?) with the Guardian.
What's the betting The Herald's new editor in waiting is a paid up member of the Greens or Labour?
