Dead man walking

No, not Paul Henry - TVNZ's offensive retard market is way too big for them to get rid of him. I'm talking dead in the literal sense, and referring to Geert Wilders. Here's what he's been up to lately:

Dutch Christian Democrats held their noses and committed to a new minority government with the rightwing liberal VVD party, which will depend on the backing of Wilders's 24 seats in the Dutch parliament.

In return for his support, Wilders has gained a binding agreement to ban the burqa, crack down on immigration, and pursue more Eurosceptic policies.

I'd say he's marked for death and the only outstanding issue regarding the timing of it is how good his security guards are.

I've some sympathy for Wilders - Islam is pretty much as he describes it, ie not something we ought to encourage in Western countries, and I can't for the life of me understand why European countries with population densities in the hundreds per sq k would want immigration from anywhere, let alone Muslim countries. The Dutch, with typical Continental respect for freedom of speech, have charged him with hate speech and put him in the dock (same article above) - if convicted, he gets a fat fine or a year in jail. The Muslims of course will have something a little more permanent in mind for him.

Gueez PM ... that measured post had put your liberal credendials seriously at risk.

Watch out ... Joris DB might come a knocking.

Or even the 'thought police' at Massey.

Now Now PM. You'll be getting plaudits from KG if you are not careful.
But yes, you are right and this is something i should have posted on too.

Yes he is marked for death. And anyone else who dares to question the ideology of the 'religion of peace'.

I read about the seige of Malta the other day. The Knights of St John gave the Muslims a wupping. It was suprising to see the traits - the Muslims were brave religious zealots who got lost in their egos while the Christians were lead by a charismatic but not egotistical men. Both claim a life after death but I think the Christians believed it more. I suspect today the "Christians" would be in trouble as they are now lead by liberal policticians. Shame on them for letting it happen.

There's respecting people who happen to be Muslims, and there's respecting Islam - two very different things. I don't respect any religion very much, but Islam really is right down there with Scientology or the Unification Church at the bottom of the stupidity well. Western countries already have more than enough illiberal religious fundamentalists, without importing more of them.

Immigration due to dutch etc. getting too wealthy or too much welfare and noone to do all the mundane work. PFO

The Dutch have been progressively accommodating to the islamic immigrants. The stage has been reached where police regard crime in their areas as being virtually unable to be investigated due to intimidation by islamics. As with all weakness in the name of tolerance, it has bitten them on the bum. The situation has thrown up one hard-headed Dutchman who is a thorn in the side of an establishment that does not wish to be shown up as wrong. Wilders for all his blunt speech has one thing they don't and that's courage. If some swarthy middle eastern tops him the result will be tit for tat. There are a lot of hard heads in Holland who would love to have an excuse.

You sympathise with Geert Wilders? Wait a second - it's Steve Ignorant on the line, he wants his logo back...

He wouldn't like Wilders, sure. I don't like Wilders much either, but I've certainly got some sympathy for him. Last I heard, Steve Ignorant and the rest of Crass were enthusiasts for freedom of speech, not opponents of it. They were also fairly unlikely to be enthusiasts for a religion with the name "Submit." There are worse things than being a Tory MP.

This post is not unusual for Milt. I have often thought that he has a more balanced view on many subjects that some others here, even though he professes to come from left field.

Psycho proves that one can nominally sit on one side of the political spectrum without mindlessly adhering to 100% of any party's line all the time.

Exactly. He's never been anything but an aimless and confused left wing fuckwit.

It's this kind of razor-sharp insight that makes your opinion so valued everywhere you post, Redbaiter...

Well, for the record, I have zero respect for Wilders. Like most of the rest of Sweden, I balk at the idea of a world under a party like Wilders'. 5,7% of Sweden have voted in a similar party, but unlike Holland the entire parliament (without a single exception) is working in unity to keep the 'Swedish Democrats' far away from the levers of power.

Freedom of speech is an extremely important concept - but do you honestly think that is the core of Wilders' politics? Or is it something else entirely?

For the record, even though we disagree I like the fact that most of the authors on this blog can't be easily pigeonholed. You are still of course, all very wrong, but independent wrong thought is to be championed. ;)

On top of that PM, the birth rate of Islamic immigrants is remarkably higher than others.

Where I live in London, there are burkas everywhere. While it doesn't worry me too much, as all religions are backward and based on myth and fear, it is quite alarming at how the system is coping with all these arrivals.

Many are not work ready, nor can speak the language -although I could say the same for many of the other immigrants here. The ones who do work are in low paid manual labour and are fodder for militant Islamic speakers at the local mosque.

I don't worry about them too much, they are generally friendly and many of my clients are Muslim. But as I said, it is alarming at how this population is growing. Combine them with a red neck, uneducated, anti immigration local population and there will be fireworks in a few years.

As would I. However, as long as mainstream European parties pursue immigration policies that increase the number of foreign religious extremists in their populations, the native non-religious-extremist people are going to vote in increasing numbers for non-mainstream parties that are actually willing to do something about it.

5,7% of Sweden have voted in a similar party, but unlike Holland the entire parliament (without a single exception) is working in unity to keep the 'Swedish Democrats' far away from the levers of power.

In other words, they're sticking their heads in the sand and hoping the issue goes away. It won't, because the immigration policies aren't changed, the problems created by importing religious fundamentalists from the Third World will increase, and the Sweden Democrats will attract a bigger proportion of the vote. They really should take their heads out of the sand and deal with the issue that's causing the vote share of these parties to increase.

DenMT, it doesn't matter whether you like Wilders or not. Some people didn't like Winston Churchill.

Wilders IS the new Churchill, and we (including you) need him big time.
