Triple A Rated Mayor

During World War Two, American airmen over Europe used the term to describe what the Poms call flack. Fire from AntiAircraft Artillery

In modern times the term is used as a measure of credit rating.

On Auckland's North Shore it is applied to one of the Mayoral candidates

Arrogant Alcoholic Arsehole

Ratings by Absolut.

If you're not careful Whaleoil, you might win this damned thing!

During WWII the Allies used "ack ack" to describe anti-aircraft fire, until even they began to use the now ubiquitous GERMAN acronym, Flak - FLieger Abwehr Kanone (literally: "Flyer defence gun").

Any dictionary correctly traces the etymology of this word.

A quick look through Wiki would indicate the terms 'flak, ack ack and triple a' all originated during world war two.
