Winners And Losers

The prime ministerial attitude to sport is instructive.

This man attends events at his own expense because he is an enthusiastic supporter

This baleful bilious bitch attended events at huge taxpayer cost because she wanted the photo opportunity and made no secret of the fact she would rather be at home reading a book.

Every time Helen Clark attended a New Zealand fixture we would just about be guaranteed a loss, her record was not great.

The cost of the cannonball run from Waimate to Christchurch for one of those photo op's was substantial to the tax payer. Police staff convicted (overturned) etc. If she repaid her salary from the UN she might just about square the ledger if she lives to be as old as Mathusla rather than just looking like him

like chalk 'n cheese really.

The thing which must upset the left the most is that Key can afford to do as he pleases on his own credit card and at his own pleasure. His wealth would represent a target rather than an attribute to the envy ridden and odious members of the left. Good luck to him.

Not just Key - this is true of all Nat MPs & most Mayors and councillors --- and even most Nat & ACT voters.

That's why the left hate success. They know they'll never succeed except by taking from their betters.

And that's why Labours are troughers when Nats aren't -

and why no lefty or unionist or Labourist or Green should ever be allowed anywhere near government or even be allowed to vote.

One day soon, very soon, the idea of voting Labour or joining a union will be as remote and as stupid as the idea of voting for Breshnev or the Spanish Inquisition.

NZ quite rightly would not tolerate something like the Inquision, or pass laws, or genocide.

It should not tolerate labour, greenism, unionism, or leftism for exactly the same reason.

But is Key really so generous? Yes, he donates part of his salary, but then the man has more than 50 million tucked away, so it kind of renders it blank. Helen is entitled to her books, so what, sport is overrated here in NZ. Next yeart the whole school year is changing to fit around the Rugby World Cup. How bright is that? Key likes sport, big deal, so do most red blooded males.

too many anons on here, should be anon #1, #2 etc etc. Makes replying awkward.

Some people on the right are very myopic. Yes, of course the left hates Key because he is rich. Has it occured to you this apparent "hatred" is more over disagreements of policy. I'm not exactly what you would call left, I personally like John Key and hope he does well and New Zealand prospers under him. However do you not see the inconsistencey in suggesting the left hates the right, and then blogging as follows;

Sure because no right wing politican has ever been caught troughing...except; Bill English, Roger Douglas, Rodney Hide, Phil Heatley, Murrary McCully, Tim Groser...I guess that they don't count though right. I'm pissed off as much as anyone about the credit card scandal, but don't for a moment thing this is an matter of left v right, it is a matter of decency, and shredding a culture of entitlement that has infected members of both parties. As for the comments about Helen Clark attending a game equalling a loss. You are so silly. I do recall she was instrumental in the final push to award the 2011 Rugby World Cup to New Zealand...another conveniant oversight guys. I don't begrudge you your political views, I just wish your arguments would be less childish. Politics should be about a contest of ideas and policy in order to achieve what is best for New Zealand,not some attention seeking partisan grab.

Anon the umpteenth.

You do take yourself far far too seriously. There is a huge difference between (a)turning up for the photo op in London (or wherever it was)which was the RWC announcement and (b) inflicting her Jonah-like influence on actual sporting events themselves.

No doubt you will list all the important sporting victories attended by Clark.

Did you stop to think that we won the RWC bid in spite of her malevolent presence?

Yeah good point Adolf,these were the words of Chris Moller after the announcement;

Helen Clark took part in the final bid presentation to the IRB in Dublin today, along with NZRU chairman Jock Hobbs and chief executive Chris Moller, All Blacks legend Colin Meads and All Blacks captain Tana Umaga.

Both she and Umaga were absent for the decision itself.

He had to return to London ahead of the test against England at Twickenham on Sunday (NZ time), while Clark immediately flew out to Korea for the Apec conference.

Moller said Helen Clark's presence added considerable weight to New Zealand's bid presentation.

"If she had not been there I suspect we would not have won," Moller said.

I trust this clarifies whether it was a mere photo-op.

As for your question about Helen Clark's attendence at important sporting events, sorry I can't help you with that, I prefer to watch the sport rather than looking into the stands, and taking a tally as to when I see an incumbent Prime Minister. Although off the top of my head I do recall she attended the Warriors play off game against the Sydney Roosters in 2008 at Mount Smart Stadium.

Ever read literature, Adolf? No, history only, I believe. I bet you love sport too?

King Lear, NZ politics.

Yhe policy will of course be made clear for all to see.

I remember watching Helen in the stands in a Tri-Nations game in 03, while I was backpacking in Vietnam. As soon as her face hit the screen, everybody in the bar started to boo.

Good game otherwise!

Helen is entitled to her books

You know - she's not. Like all Labourites Unionites etc she is entitled to apologies, retire, and then kill herself

that's about it.

However do you not see the inconsistencey in suggesting the left hates the right, and then blogging as follows;

The problem with you lefties is that you have problems with what are known as facts

No National minister has ever been jailed for corruption. Bill English, Rodney Hide, and the rest
did not break any laws or guidelines!
They did nothing illegal. They did not take taxpayers money and use it for party political ends. They spent nothing the rules at the time allowed them to. Right MPs are decent and do not have a culture of entitlement. That is a fact

this is simply not the case with labour and the unions and the lefties

A beat-up by the left-wing MSM to brand both sides as equally guilty does not make it true. You may like to hate all pollies equally but there is absolutely no factual basis for it.

Lefties lie, cheat, rort, and steal as a matter of course.

National and ACT MPs as a rule do not - or the only instance, Awatere, was thrown out as soon as detected, and their party leader did his level best to have her jailed and bankrupted.

it really is that simple.
