Gone Walkabout

Updated

The Penrith returning officer, that is.

One hour and twenty one minutes since the polls closed and he's managed to count one booth, 267 votes.

Looks like Rudd will be tipped out next week.

How's all that blond headed bullshit going for you now, Ackers?

Update: A record historical swing against Labor.

25.5%.

With 75% of the vote counted the Libs have over 50% of the primary vote.

There were only four people at the Labour Party piss up!

You can hear the little Ruddlet squealing in the background as he prepares to spend the rest of his life on HIS selection. (That one's for those of us who read literature.)

Looks like it could be one of those historic byelections that will stand out in Australian history for years.
I was watching Sky News last night and a couple of things Labor said did not stack up.
One was NSW state Labor's leader, the very pretty Keneally was popular.
The other was this was no protest against Rudd/ the federal government.
With such a huge swing like that, it is obvious Rudd is a factor.

And it is most bizarre that Rudd did not talk to bob Brown, as the young reporter/ interviewer on Sky News pointed out.
We see yet a major Rudd blunder here as a one-to-one with the Green Party boss just might have saved his ETS.
