One For The Shouters.......

This morning's Herald gives cold comfort to the anti-National shouters from the rabid right.

In a report on the Ratana conference currently underway PM John Key is shown to have received an extremely positive reception, such as would have been impossible just five years ago.

Adolf's earlier prescience in these things is borne out by the remarks of one church member during the welcome:-

Joe Everett, a morehu (Ratana follower), noted the long connections the Church has with Labour but then said that since becoming Prime Minister, John Key had abided by his promises to the Maori people.

"In the short time you have been in power, you have done so much more than others have done for the Maori people."

The overt praise and implicit criticism of the previous Labour government made it clear the Church followers at least are openly reconsidering their alliance with Labour.

There, for all to see, is laid bare Helen Clark's greatest folly. She drove Maoridom into the arms of National and National is going to love Maoridom to death for herein lies the destruction of Labour.

Much credit for this fortunate state of affairs needs to be given to ACT's Rodney Hide. He was one of the first conservative MPs to develop a close and cordial relationship with Tariana Turia during the occupation of Treasury benches by the Clark Cullen led Nazis.

You know, I almost feel as though I wrote the script.

I just might have to go out to Ratana tomorrow, and have a kai with the "haters and wreckers".

"In the short time you have been in power, you have done so much more than others have done for the Maori people."

And therein lies the problem. He wasn't elected to do "so much more for the Maori people" he was elected by Kiwis who were largely sick and tired of the separatists, the Waitangi Tribunal gravy train and the countless millions of dollars of taxpayer's money flung at one small sector of society.

Far from being a paen of praise, those words are an indictment of Key and National.

You mean Kieth, helping get them OFF welfare dependency is not what he was elected to do?

The world is not black and white mate and neither to great things happen overnight.

Every maori has today and has had for decades the same rights to work and education as anybody else in NZ. Those who used those have done well.
Giving out money and assets to buy the maori vote is what is happening.
The idea that having some ancestor who was here before someone elses gives extra rights to taxpayer money and healthcare ...etc. is what it all boils down to.

I see your point Adolf but I don't for one moment believe that caving in to Maori demands is 'helping them off welfare dependency'.
If I did believe that then I'd support National to the hilt. What I see is a party prepared to tolerate--and even foster--the very things which are crippling productivity and enterprise in NZ.
The best way to get people off welfare dependency is to get them into work, yet there's still very little pressure on long-term bludgers to reform their ways and damn-all encouragement to reward hard work.
I'm not against welfare per se but what I am against is being slugged with ever-increasing regulations and taxes while people who refuse to work are paid by me.
One nation, one people, one set of laws and regulations.
On that sentence alone, National get an "F".
And sure, great things don't happen overnight but after a year in power, given a large mandate, National have delivered precious little.

Actually, Adolf, I don't think you have a point at all; it's just politics as usual.

(ps: wonder what Hone thinks of this - as if I care).

Question Of The Day: What's the difference between welfare dependency and political dependency?

The answer's Brown and White.

Please don't call Rodney a conservative. That's about the rudest thing you could ever say Adolf!!

About time you cleansed this place of 2 trolls - KG and Wakeup. They are just flame throwers who hate everything and everyone.

WAKE UP said...

Stephen, I think you'll find that Adolf knows me better than you do. To begin with, he knows how to debate things, not just throw his toys out of the cot..

Adof, the shameless apologist for the National government strikes again.

Will you ever open your eyes to the damege Key is doing with his total surrender to the racist Maori Party?

KG said...

Stephen, if you regard the discussion I'm having with Adolf as 'trolling' I'd suggest you need to go find out the meaning of the term.
Mere disagreement isn't trolling and what's more, your description of me and Wakey is so far off the mark as to be laughable--or simple lying.

Perhaps you could point us to your own blog where we would be able to see your recommendations in action?

Thought not.

You are well known for banning anyone who disagrees with YOUR views KG - Psycho Milt included. Other cases have been documented on this site. So don't take the moral high ground.

Adolf and co here give you a good run - far better than YOU give dissenters.

KG said...

Take the "moral high ground"? I don't, idiot.
CR was created (I get so sick of explaining this to morons) as a place for like-minded people and we've never made a secret of the fact that leftists aren't welcome there.

Now, if you could just point me to the "Rules For Bloggers" manual and the section that says I have no choice who to allow on my property,I'll put it up as a post, in bold.
But you can't. And if you're such a fucking expert, and so..moral where's your blog? Your forum for free speech?
You simply leech of other people's efforts.

KG said...

I'd also point out that any one of our regular commenters has the ability to delete comments and put up posts. Not something we could trust leftys and trolls with. :-)

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

Fascinating hoe so many shitwits seem to assume they have some 'right' to comment on people's blogs.

well folks, a blog is like a fellow's home. we welcome visitors but we pick and choose who we let in through the front door.

Get it? That's not too complicated for the leftist academically trained intellectual, is it?

Stephen said...

Hope you are not saying I am a leftist. KG and Wakeup have already much reduced the number of people willing to comment here. They flood the blog with comments -several on each post and nearly all of them hateful. This puts other more moderate commenters off.

But the choice is yours.

If Cagey's so afraid of debate and unsure of his positions that he censors his "blog" that's up to him. And if he chooses to swear at and abuse anyone who points out his idiocy, well whatever.

Of course whether to take anything he says seriously is entirely your choice.

I rest my case because kg just deleted a post where I suggested that his 'liberty' blog was one of the most censored and anti free speech on the internet!!

Hilarious!!!

Ciaron said...

CR is not anti free speech, it's anti idiots and people who can only respond with terms like racist, wreckers & haters (H/T Wakeup :))

WAKE UP said...

Stephen, why don't you try debating the topic that's actually on the table? If we can remember what the hell it was when this thread started. Get a life.

Stephen said...

I agree with Adolf actually. It is YOU who should get a life and stop trolling blogs.

WAKE UP said...

Yep, incisive, well-researched, well-expressed opinion, right on topic.

Ciaron said...

So, Stephen, other than your obvious dislike of KG & Wakeup, what have you actually got to say about the current state of affairs with regard to the working relationship of the National & Maori parties. Personally I think there would be a lot of pissed off National core voters out there, but I have to admire the way the Maori party is making MMP work for them..

your thoughts, if any...

Or are you going to hate on me now?.

More irony and self-critcism Wakey? You are full of surprises.

Troll: someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community

lets see, Who is off topic here...
that's right, the Judge & the Steve

WAKE UP said...

Adolf, hi there: ignoring the recent input from the idiot fringe, let's get back to the topic...
As I said, I think the Nats/Maori cosy-up is just politics as usual, and wouldn't attach any more significance to it than that; and also, when you look at similar minority/major party relationships in the recent past (NZ First with just about everyone, for example :) I think the situation may even be fraught with danger - for the major party, that is !

Give it up Stephen....they hate and swamp anyone who disagrees with their shit.....freedom lovers or lefties.

Funny thing is they are more akin to the lefties than they realise...
