Harshest European winter in 30 years

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Forecasters are predicting no let-up in Britain's harshest cold snap in 30 years as fresh snow and freezing weather sweep parts of Europe, causing travel chaose for thousands....

Forecasters in Britain said icy winds from northern Europe meant the big freeze felt even colder after temperatures fell overnight to -14 degrees and even lower in some parts of the country.

The Met Office warned that up to 20 cm of snow could fall over the next 24 hours, with the southeast of the country hardest hit.

Temperatures looked set to remain below freezing, with some rural spots not getting above -10 degrees even by midday.

Shit! They'd better take heaps of photos before the snow becomes a thing of the past!

As an aside, thankfully Arsenal grabbed a 92nd minute equaliser against Everton in the snow. I can't resist a pic of that, along with that white stuff that was predicted in 2000 to be a "thing of the past".

Watched the arse game and Birmingham vs the scum. The players looked bloody cold.

I've never seen premier league or fist div played in those conditions athough once upon a time in Dunedin we had a game in a blizzard. The ref told both teams when the first guy gets exposure the game gets called off!

No under pitch heating at kettle park!

I laughed like hell when I read of traffic chaos in US cities recently fitted with LED traffic lights. You see, the old light bulgs used to melt the ice on the traffic lights and keep them visible. Now they are sustainably efficient and effectively useless.

Argue, Everton should of won that game.

I had a $5 bet on Everton, it was paying 10-1 at the TAB.
